Yes, extended to 40" vertical to get the compression driver to ear height. Sand filled bases so my 2 year old wont try to tip them over. 1lb of polyfill per cu/ft with open path from woofer to ports.

I couldn't agree more. Went with the 8" two way for center due to size. Should be a pretty fun setup to enjoy. tempests in stereo with the LilMikes Lil Wrecker will be fun music times!!!

thebuckaman,

How do they sound? I may have missed it, what are you using to power them?

Thank you, and they look great.

Well I was finally able to pick up the speakers. They look great in the guy that I had built them did a fantastic job. I have them hooked up and have one issue. One of the tempests seems to be about 10 DB quieter high-frequency. I popped out the hirn and switch the polarity with no improvement. Any place I should start checking?

Swap speakers to see if the quietness follows that speaker. That will rule out the receiver/amp. You can also swap the horns/CD to rule out a bad compression driver. If its not the receiver/amp/CD then post a picture of the crossover.

It was an audyssey issue. It was setting levels in stereo almost 10db off between left and right. We are now cooking with gas. these are efficient! Audyssey set the tempests at 80hz and the 8" center at 150 so some some breaking in may be needed.

Man those look really nice and from your PM they are sounding super. Congrats . I gotta do the same, I really like them as towers so the waveguide is ear height. I just set up my account at DIY Sound group. Now I just gotta get the Mrs to agree to spend a grand before I sell my current set up. We are redoing our backyard with a new extended patio , outdoor kitchen, etc so funds are scarse at the moment. I need a new speaker project. I really enjoyed building my subs and I want to continue with this DIY speaker building. It is an addiction.

I don't, but I can try and answer any questions you may have. They are 40" tall with sand filled bases. Front panel has matching roundover to keep the baffle seamless.

Did you use the flat pack from diysound or did you build these yourself? If you built them do you have plans you could share? If you used the flat pack can you tell us how you connected them to the bases?

Hi.

When will you be shipping the new 8cuft dual opposed 18" flat pack?

Also, is there or was there a flat pack for the Sentinel-15? I don't see it on the site anymore. All I can find is the kit without enclosure.

I got the custom shipping boxes in for the 2nd half of the dual opposed 8 cuft boxes. They are ready to go, but I'm having trouble with the site figuring the shipping because it ships in 2 boxes, but there's no way for the shopping cart program to know that and calculate 2 packages for one product. rolleyes.gif Most companies would probably just add $20 to the price and hope for the best.

I could make it 2 different product numbers, but that's pretty cheesy to have to add the sides to the cart, then add the baffles and braces afterwards.

The sides, top, and bottom weigh about 60lbs. The braces and baffles weigh about 40lbs. I could try and figure out how much the 40lbs would normally cost to ship, and just add that to the price of the box, then let the site figure shipping on the other 60lbs.

Scott.....shipping to California would not be pretty.
