I checked Parts Express and I think if these are set up for kits with the 500 watt plate amp and either the Dayton RS 15" or Eminence Lab15.....shipping might be completely free for everything......including the 85lb flat pack!

I'll have to double check everything to be sure because shipping 130lbs across country can vary a lot in price. It would end up being 3 boxes each weighing about 45lbs for a kit. I'd have to add up packaging material for each box, but if it works out, that would be great for DIY guys.

Will you be selling just the flat packs on your site?

I would need two of these flat packs to go with the 15" HO drivers that I already have. Then I would need two 15" HF drivers to go into the sealed 3^ft. cabs I already have.

This ported cube15:

Could you do the woofer cut out for other brands of 15" subwoofers??? Alpine 1522D for example!

I think at best you could ask for a blank baffle, especially if Erich is using the cnc machine to cut them.

I can't find the diameter of the Alpine. The Lab15 is basically 15.4" so maybe the Alpine will fit in that cut out already.

Will there be any kits available without the plate amp?

Without the plate amp it would probably be easier to buy the woofer direct from the supplier but I'll check.

Erich - Do you have an ETA on the availability of these yet? I know you have 1,000 things going, just trying to determine if I should hold off on what I'm currently working on and wait for these.

Sorry, I thought you meant that PE would be offering kits with driver, flatpack, and plate amp (with free shipping). So I was wondering if PE would be offering a kit without the plate amp. They offer decent discounts on the other flatpack/sub kits when you buy the driver and flatpack together. I guess that is what I am after.

I can always ask PE if they want some of the ported flat packs or not. But if not, I'm sure things will still work out okay and the discounts will still cover free shipping.

The only thing I'm waiting on is the custom shipping box. Hoping they will be made and here in about a week.

Here they are ...

Dayton RS15 Cube Kit:

Lab15 Cube Kit:
http://www.diysoundgroup.com/lab15-kit.html

Ported Cube 15 Flat Pack:

What would the differences be between the RS15 Cube kit vs. the LAB15 Cube Kit?

I decided to give a couple of speakers a try recently, one being a pair of Dayton Bookshelf speakers with AMT tweeters, and the Volt-10s from DIYsoundgroup.

I've been highly curious about these speakers. Having good impressions of the Daytons, which now sits in the living room for my mom to use. I now have the Volt-10 pair to put together as well, and as always Erich does an excellent packing job!

I've bought a couple of dual opposed 18" enclosures from him and they were great. At least these smaller cabinets ought to be quicker and easier.

As part of my curiosity, I've been wanting to hear how well compression driver tweeters sound (I mean I do like how well the horn tweeters are in my Cerwin-Vega S-2 EE towers, but they are different than these), as well as the Volt-10s in general. Especially with how popular they seemed to be here.

I'm excited and can't wait to get them setup to try, and I just got to figure how well I or mom may like them. Whether or not they'd fit for the living room as mains, or if I want to use them for myself for something.

I also kind of like the blue coned woofers too.

Anyway, thanks a bunch, Erich for a great packing job! Also I love the board that comes with the crossover assembly, that would make it extremely nice to piece together!

You won't be disappointed for sure.

Well, I got one cabinet glued up this evening. I hope to get the other started soon, and I got one crossover built and I'm sitting here testing one Volt- 10 on the floor off my center channel.

I got my volt 10's this week and you won't be dissapointed in the packaging. I swear Erich needs to run a training program for other corporations to follow when packaging.

This is the quickest I assembled one of Erich's flatpacks ever, but it does help being a smaller simple size. lol

Though I didn't bother with any finish since I don't know how I want to finish them yet, and I was in a hurry to hear them.

Though would these require some form of stuffing material in them?

Which enclosure is that?
It doesn't look like any of the V10 enclosures offered.

So, are the V10s shipping, now?
It still says "out of stock."
How much time did it take to build?

That is the angled enclosure Erich offers, I just have them sitting on their side on top of my Cerwin-Vega S-2 towers.

I think Erich has been having trouble keeping up with stock on parts due to supplier availability, but maybe he can clear that up.

With enough wood clamps, I'd say I could have fit the cabinets together in half an hours time and give them 24 hours for the glue to dry. During that time frame, solder the crossovers and wires. I'm not sure on finish time. Just the time to hurry up and hear them.

Haha, I found the ocelot at Walgreens for $10, they had other Minecraft goodies there too.

Right now I do order the Eminence coaxials and crossover parts through Parts Express. So when they are out of stock, unfortunately I can't do much about it.
