I need to know what I'm missed by not going with the LG clone.
The thought that I 'could' be missing something is killing me.

This is half an iTech 8000 @ 4ohm with the LMS-18.
Would I be gaining even more db and stuff, or am I good as-is here?

Show me what your excursion is like on the LG clone at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60hz.
I've seen lots of 1-19hz stuff, I want to see the performance of subwoofers at higher frequencies.

FYI song is: Bass Mekanik - Momentz

Other videos of other amps and subwoofers welcome too.
If you show me yours, I'll show you mine haha, sorry couldn't resist.

Multiply by 2, then horn load, then put the horns in the front corners.

Not bad but I prefer to keep my subs within sensible levels today, after listening to EARTHQUAKE in sensuuroud in 1975 resulted in mild tinnitus.

So what is the music track called so some can use the same track to test their subs.

Sharp peaks between 40Hz and 80Hz

First part of what your microphone was picking up

Second part of what your microphone was picking up

Artist: Bass Mekanik
Song: Momentz
Album: Download

It has a lot of double-bass in it, between 20 to 75hz.

IB for the win. That's a serious project.

OP: Spend less time pointlessly abusing your drivers free air, and more time actually building a subwoofer.

Just 'a' subwoofer?

Not that I have to 'justify' my actions to you at all Brew, but I will 'entertain' this idea for a moment or two.

I have had subwoofers in my system for years and years and years.
5 operating in my room as of the date of this thread and as can be heard in the video. 3 I have sold off years ago and 4 I'm in the process of reshaping as we speak.

In addition to that... I have another 8 Mal-X 18's sitting on the floor waiting for boxes; as can be seen here...

Ok your turn Brew, let's see your 'serious project' now?
Now I will lower myself down to your level...
Brew: Spend more time building your own 'serious project' and less time 'pointlessly' nitpicking others' online, of which you don't even know the slightest about...

I have no interest in seeing woofers going free air, I want to see your project.... that's all I was saying. Too many punks screwing around with drivers free-air on YouTube with nothing to show for it but a large unpaid credit card bill. If that's not you, don't take offense.

My 'serious project' kicks ass, by the way. I'm sure you will appreciate it. 4 IB3's in a IB. I'll post up some info when it's finished tomorrow.

My subs can make my wife go from asleep to b/witch in about 2 seconds. No videos of that though...

I see... but you do realize that if you have an infinitely sized wall/box, with an infinite anechoic-like space on both sides of said wall, you would have a driver load identical to that of free-air. IB is as close to free-air as you can get while still maintaining useable pressure on the valued side. Your room will offer as much negligible-resistance to the cone as does free-air.

So you can see why I'm even more puzzled now; anyone running IB's should be HIGHLY concerned with the performance of the their drivers in free-air if anything at all.

Note: This video is not free-air! It's of a small-ish sealed box!
