Anything with power.

On the cheap? Behringer ep4000 or equivalent. This 21" doesn't 'need' ginormous amounts of juice.

this driver is quite similar to the jbl 2242 used in the majority of pro cinema applications.

two drivers in parallel give a net of 4 ohms.

in 8-10 cubic feet per cab (one driver per cab) tuned to around 25hz, one ep2500/4000 amp (with 2000 real watts at 20hz) will hit more than 125db before any boundary or pressure vessel gain.

this would be a crazy good subwoofer setup for around $1k.

if you want to push it deeper, that ultimately becomes an air pump and power equation. i would choose a different driver and much more amplification if that is your goal.

Ehhh, that amp would not be my first choice. Also, I'm not seeing it 'on sale' on my screen.

It's $398, maybe that's a normal price. And as far as "EHHHHHH" that's why I ask these questions.
I've done a bunch of Car subs in my time (don't hate me) so I was considering a project for a sub for my under construction HT room. 14x12x19ft. This sub had my curiosity up. Figured one of these in a BP enclosure with 1k watts would be adequate for HT impact. I have a Velodyne for music used with a pair of B&W 804s

yes.

however, you always want to go for overkill, so 2x the minimal system. :-)

not sure if we are all seeing the same thing. below is what i saw and so what i posted.

The sub LTD02 proposed a post back is a good start for a $1k project. It won't extend below 20hz but it will get you 99% of most movie bass and peel your face off with SPL doing it.

I'm confused. The specs for the freq response say 324-2kHz.

That is the best price I have seen on those B&C 21s in a long time.

It's just a typo. This particular drive works fantastic in a music style ported box that would tuned ~30hz.

I've got 2-3 of those from the last JBL group buy I still need to list. Never got around to doing it. One had a small tear in the cone though, but I was told it's a very easy fix.
