Hi guys re Bose 601 series 3
As they are corroded with age, no markings visible, can anyone let me know what the values are for the ceramic disc capacitor which is wired in parallel with the tweeter protection lamp?
I have emailed Bose Aust but naturally no reply came.
Would appreciate your advice.
Mine are otherwise in as new condition with the 4 8" drivers all refoamed and both enclosures rewired so now just to replace the ceramic caps and it's then music time again. Cheers.

Post a pic. Are they really ceramic caps?

Ceramic caps seem to age pretty well -- are you sure they need to be replaced? I just measured a bunch of 25+ yr old ceramic caps and didn't find any duds.

If you think they might still be electrically good but want to replace them due to the corrosion, etc. you could measure them with something like this -- it is what I used to measure my old caps and it works very nicely:

My multimeter can measure caps, too, but that meter above has a much wider range and instead of having to cram the leads from the cap into some holes on my multimeter, you can use the included test leads with the dedicated capacitance meter.
