Im going to be called a hater but oh well:
SA15 new $235 free shipping
http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/s...SA%252d15.html

Also the Sundown Zv3 18" is $480 new, but SSA still has to pay shipping, they just roll it into the cost. Shipping on a 60lb box would be $30 even if it was down the street. Someone in california will likely be paying $70-$80.

Good spot. Adjusted both. SA15 to $200+ship, Zv3 goes to $400+ship. Tweaked the SA12 as well. I use a fedEx account so shipping will be less than website quotes.

Not out to make a pile of money on these, just get them out of here, and to help fund some new builds now that I have a more solid direction. If you see anything else not comparable let me know.

The SA handles more power, and has more displacement with 19mm vs 14mm xmax. They both favor larger sealed enclosures.

So The Sa15 would go lower and louder I assume. I have 2 390 hfs and 2 oaduio amps. Never build the subwoofers lol. I'm regretting buying those HFs now lol. I'm wonder which one will do better in the sound quality dep since the HF's are known to be very very high SQ drivers.

the two are very different approaches to driver design.

the hf employs a weak motor and very compliant (loose) suspension. good inductance management.

the sa15 employs a little stronger motor, but pretty low compliance (stiff) suspension. not sure about inductance management.

hf is designed to be better for listening to a cello, upright bass, et al where the little nuances are important hence its name and different choice in design than the ho, while the sa15 is designed to survive all kinds of dumb acts with a ton of power which is VERY important in the car audio world where sundown has its roots.

for a sealed application in home theater where you know what you are doing either should work fine, but the larger xmax of the sa15 gives it the edge in the bottom octaves spl. however, since you are limited to 500? watts, you are going to end up with similar spl because you will run out of amp before you run out of excursion with the sa15.

Listen. It's All Good.

The SA15 has a pair of Faraday Rings, the HF uses three shorting rings.

The SA's 600w Pe rating is very conservative. Real world 800-1kw would not be out of line considering the extensive venting and motor parts used.

Pmed you about the ZV3.
Still wondering on what size would be good sealed for this, hmm.
I think my winisd has it right, modeled it vrs an LMS-U, UXL-18, and SDX15.
It only loses out below <20hz, but still handles more power (minus the LMS).
Looks good in 200l.

Use 2.5kw for Pe and 30mm Xmax, 45mm Xlim. Those are very realistic home theater specs.

That PPI sub is actually pretty good and a great deal at $50. Good deals all around! GLWS! if shipping wouldn't kill the deal, I'd even grab a few to mess with but being in Canada, kinda ruins it lol

If you are anywhere near Niagara Falls/Buffalo in Canada shipping is a non issue as I'm an hour from there on the US side.

Thanks. Any chance youve measured the t/s Params for those? I want to model them for an existing enclosure but the online users manual doesn't list t/s

I have a .pdf of them at home, but I'm on the road to Detroit. I found it through google, on a random forum post. I'll look in a few hours when I get to Detroit if you can't find it.

Just for giggles, what would shipping be on the solo-X to 84056? Not sure if the wife would ever let me, but worth a shot lol.
