Thinking of picking up Sony b6000 speakers for 2nd room as zone B.

1) how do these speakers compare to the DIY Tritrix?
2) am I way off? Tritrix will sound much better / Sony will sound much better?
This zone B will be for music only.
3) anyone know if using zone B on Denon 1610 will still take advantage of the attached subwoofer connected to sub-out?

I'm not sure about your Denon but I bet the Tritrix will crush the Sony's in SQ. At the same price ($200) DIY will always have a better value.
I've heard great things about the Tritrix's as well.

Also you should considering waiting for the SEOS designs if you can spend a bit more. There will be very fair prices on some of the designs I'm sure.

No huge rush. Tell me more about this "SEOS designs". Is it something over at parts express?

no zone B(2) will not utilize the sub that is in zone A(1) unless you have both zones running and on the same input. The only workaround you might could try is to not select a sub for the main zone and try selecting one for the second zone, but I HIGHLY doubt that will work. Subouts are typically exclusive to zone A

Search on SEOS on this sub forum. Alternatively go the AudioKarma and check out Zilch's Ewave design thread, and the one at PETT forum called 'Show your PCD mettle'. SEOS and Ewave designs are interchangeable in concept if not exactly in implementation. The SEOS is a lter variant on the original Ewave idea.

Tritrix or overnight sensations MTM?

As you can see, I'm looking at the DIY kits that come complete with flat packs.

Do you run a sub and of you do how big and how high does it play ? I also think the diysound group is selling a swopes flat pack kit too. In that case if I'm correct I would go with the swopes.

Since this will be for Zone B on a Denon 1610, and Beastaudio says most likely the Sub won't run on Zone B, these speakers will be run without a sub.

The sub, btw, is a Dayton 15" HF DIY in a custom 7.5 cu ft ported box that hits really hard and low.

The swopes looks like it only comes in a flat pack for the wood, not as a complete speaker kit. I don't see what drivers it uses. What advantage does this have over the MTM overnight sensations?

The swopes kit is definitely sold at meniscus audio. I personally think that the m series drivers are nicer than the b series drivers from hivi. Plus the swopes uses a 5 inch driver as opposed to a 4 inch driver so it will play deeper. This is just an opinion. I also believe that the swopes will sound better than the Tritrix as the swopes are again use a higher quality driver.
