Today I locked in all the paperwork to take this audio stuff to the next level.

I still am a bit unsure about switching over my username on here, I think it is appropriate but I'm not sure yet. I have some cool stuff coming over the summer. I honestly can't be as forthcoming with detail as I have been in the past with some things, but that is to be expected. The easiest part of this is behind me for certain, and I consider that a good thing.

Congratulations what is sure to be simultaneously the best and worst thing you've done to yourself.

Best of luck with it all, but you might want to take a look at what is allowed on various forums once you take the leap to representing a business. Here at AVS a website link in your signature is one of those prohibited details as is starting threads about your own products or asking for product development ideas. Fortunately there are plenty of other media at our disposal.

Congrats,

Thanks for the heads up Mark, fixed the sig.

Not sure how much of this will become actual "products" over installation services, but hopefully some cabinets will come of it. I tried to keep it as vague as possible to allow it to head in the direction it wants.

Congrat! What will this company be doing? Custom stuff?

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

congrats on the new venture...but as a graphic designer i have some concerns about the logo...show it to 10 people who don't know the name of the company or what you do, and ask them to tell you what they think the name is, and what you do. You may cringe at the results.

If I didn't know what the logo was from the name, I don't think I would have gotten it. it looks like a J with a crown behind it IMO. I think if he separated the letters, it would make it easier to read.

at minimum seperate the letters....then lose the 2 arc's...and if you insist on having everything.audio included in the logo, the font needs to change so it appears to go with the logo and not some kind of strange web address.

sorry...i "adjust" peoples work all day long....its force of habit.

PS...AUDIO looks great...i like it alot.

congrats. best of luck.

i like the logo. i like the arcs.

it is difficult to tell that it's JWI though... looks like a crown, could be an M, etc... some separation could help people identify your brand better if they haven't heard of it before. maybe just thin the font at the connections, like neon-sign style or something? i imagine the connected letters is fair part of your design, so i hope it works out.

maybe an underscore instead of a dot to prevent 'everything.audio' from looking like half of a url?

I agree that the JWI is difficult. Maybe make the "W" red.. problem solved.

Otherwise it looks great to me. What your logo conveys to your target audience is really part of your marketing plan. With proper branding it doesn't even matter. What the heck is JBL.. but you know. What the heck is Klipsch, Sony, Bose.. you know what they are.

Having been down the path more than once, I would highly recommend a marketing plan. My first business had none (and this was a service business, not some fancy suit-and-tie thing) and I cringe thinking of the wasted money on useless advertising etc.

I had a marketing plan drafted for my current startup before I chose a name. I have a clear path of what I am going to do and how I am going to do it.... and you would never know what I do from the logo.. but it's part of the branding.

Good luck! Entrepreneurs and small business are what makes America great.

I like the W being red idea, may proof that one out. The shape of the logo is intended to tie in with other aspects down the line. My intent with this first idea is to keep it as simple and "undirectional" as possible. I think making the W red will help a bit.

Thanks all for the feedback, as it is all helpful. Thank you also for the well wishes.

The JWI is basically unreadable, "AUDIO" also has all sorts of problems with tracking and spacing.. it doesnt seem like a typeface, moreso a collection of lines

Heres what 30 minutes from an amateur graphic designer gets in terms of logo

I also think "JWI Audio Everything Audio" is redundant though.
