EDIT:

Placed model details, measurements, etc at beginning of thread for easier access to newcomers finding the thread. I'll keep the data in the front and update there.

Awesome! Having never built a speaker enclosure before, where does this rank on the scale from 1-10? I'm sure I can build it. I've done my fair share of construction and even a little cabinetry, but I suspect it's tougher than it might appear at first glance.

Dude, are you made of leprechauns? Cause that was awesome!

Different people would say different things about the build difficulty - your tools, level of proficiency building cabinets, etc will factor into it.

Jim how many man hours (including cutting panels - etc) would you estimate are in your two boxes?

J_P_A, what is your cabinet construction skill level, and tool set - on a scale of 1-10?

There's another large low horn out there - the LilWrecker. This one is a more complex build than the LilWrecker. Between the two, the output's about the same, within a dB or two and a Hz or two where it matters.

Lots going on in there, but it was designed to be buildable with basic hand tools (circ saw and guide, router, saber saw, drill. and screw gun).

Bracing is NOT OPTIONAL on this cabinet - it is absolutely needed. A single brace in the middle is a good start, make sure the braces are windowed as in the photos.

Speaking of the-LilWrecker..... Where's the link???!!! smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

We'll work on incorporating things we've learned on this build, the Lil-Wrecker and a few wrecker fails we've had since the last iteration of theHouseWrecker, build and get all that data up too before the years over we hope...

You guys are crazy. So where is the new beast residing now?

And when is the next gathering? Hurd mentioned possibly doing something in my neck of the woods? It would be a blast to meet a lot of you guys in person. Or is it one of those build it and they will come things? Maybe we should bust out a straight horn to compete with these tapped subs? wink.gif

They are parked in our semi-anechoic room here in Detroit ... waiting for their next chance to attack someones drywall smile.gif

They are "relatively" portable, so a trip out that way is more than possible.

yes, max spl numbers? I'd also build one of these just for the fun of it. haha. I really enjoyed doing the f-20's. I know this one is a little more complex, I'd welcome the project tho. Anyone in my neck of the woods that might want to throw in we could have a build day and then demo. ive (barely) got the room to plug 'er up after completion.

Somewhere 'North' of 120dB to Fb in room at low distortion. Haven't been able to measure them in a reasonable room properly hooked up yet - but they should almost be loafing at that in any room better than my own...

Not yet. Have a ton of data to sift through - and some more to gather. Mike's somewhere north of busy working his day job - and I don't have access to the horns to measure. We'll post what we find when we get through it. Mike's already designed a ~~ 1/4 scale variant using TB 6.5"ers to test the fold 'if' after we've crunched the data we have we still feel the need to. Well it isn't folded yet - we'll wait to do that till we determine whether it is necessary or not.
