Well I went with the ep4000+art cleanbox pro.. I'm testing it out on some older 12 inch subs.. What I'm looking for is thie following

1) costs around 500
2) Can order now and in stock (willing to wait a couple weeks but nothing too long).
3) I'm getting a custom ported box built, so I'd like to stay under or around 6 cubic foot
4) going in a room that is 14x20 with 8 foot high ceilings
5) going to be used for movies and music (so SQ doesn't have to be incredible).
6) Don't want to use pro drivers
7) Like to stay away form Dayton stuff
8) I have nothing against Fi but I'd like a company that I can call for support, etc..
9) I don't want to do a horn build

so far my list is this
1) lms-r 15"
2) lms-r 12" (x2)
3) tc sounds epic 12 (x2) but out of stock currently
4) the newer apline 12 in subs (not digging the surround though, mostly a Aesthetics thing).

Am I missing any other quality drivers out there? I know I've made some other similar posts in the past but I have the amp now and know of someone to build a box.. just missing the driver now.

thanks,
Mike

The Morel UW1258 sold through Madison Sounds is $499.60. I think it is in stock. It should be good in a 6 cu ft ported enclosure.

I modeled this for you. Both are 6cuft, one tuned to 20hz and the other 25hz. Sim is rated @ 1,000w.

I've looked at some of the car audio stuff but have never simmed any drivers for HT. Have you ever experienced any in a home?

Depends how you define car audio. I have an RE Audio XXX18 in my home, and it sounds great. I think that driver is usually considered car audio. But just plug in the TSP of any particular driver, and see how it models for you. Best wishes.

Sundown Zv3 18", I have a NIB D2 or a slightly used D1 around. The motors will be back in stock in another couple of weeks if you need multiples.

Data-Bass results here: http://www.data-bass.com/data?page=driver&id=41

If you want to stick with 12s, the SA-12 is a pretty hefty driver. I use 4 in my 25hz tuned 2.5cuft enclosures and they take a beating.

this one has a pretty strong motor, so you can fit two of them in a ported cab of your size.

$430 shipped.

the -154 is dual 4 ohm, so wire coils in series and drivers in parallel for a net 4 ohm load.

might be worth a look.

EDIT: my bad. i thought that price was for a pair. they can be had around the internet for $250 ea.

Listen. It's All Good.

well thanks for the recommendations but I think for the money I'm just going to get the LMS-R 15" for now.. if it isn't enough I can add another. Last night I was listening to my 2 old 12's and they worked pretty well but i'm looking for just a bit more.. I'm thinking if I replace 1 of the 12's with a new 15 LMS-R I should be good..

Can anyone tell me if I can use a 6 cubic foot port box? And if so what would be the port size?

thanks,
Mike

TWO 4 inch diameter ports that are 24 inches long in a 6 cubic foot net internal volume enclosure will tune it to 20.43hz according to winisd.

TWO 4 inch diameter ports that are 18 inches long ports give 23.18hz tuning in the same cabinet.

Listen. It's All Good.
