So you're gonna stack 4 of these horizontally? Or are you spreading them out??

Two in front and two in rear. Boxes will be side-by-side, no stackage.

might actually try two vertically if you can, front or back whichever works, to help with vertical room modes. you might be very surprised at how much they will smooth the FR.

Wow! When my wife thinks I'm nuts for wanting 4 subs I can show her this build to emphasize my conservative approach.

Please do...

I used a pic of notnyt's setup justify my approach. My WAF hurdle was "cost" not the amount of subs. These SI drivers fit the bill!

Notynt's system is awe inspiring, I bet yours will be the same when completed. You guys are really pushing the edge in terms of quality/quantity ratio.

Only in this forum can I build a dual opposed 18" driver sub, and it is just meh compared to what everyone else is running.

Inferior?!?!?! So says the man with the wall of sound in his avatar…shhhuttt up…lol

I'm going to need to step up my LCR game when my sub build is done. Those AE TDX's you are using in your SEOS are a front runner for sure. Just love the look of them! Might just stick with the DNA360 to keep cost down as I am confident it would be an upgrade over my Klipsch RF-7's regardless. <--- At least I think so?

That's much much further down the road though. You guys know I have to take a delicate approach or off with my balls…

I'm sure it will be much warmer next trip you guys take up my way. Maybe we could set something up in June. Might as well throw in those 8 additional D2's in the back of the diesel to kill two birds with one stone...

Dude, take solace in knowing that your single DO 18's will outperform 95% of commercial HT offerings on the planet. Might not be as much show, but it's all go! I was running some numbers the other day and IIRC a single DO box loaded with the SI 18's will have more displacement than the Paradigm Sub 2. So, more output and less required power for what, 1/15th of the price?

I love those overly dramatic simplistic examples of what DIY brings to the table…lol

Oh I know. I'm currently running a Submersive HP, and 95% of people that see and hear it think it is overkill. If they only knew... smile.gif

I'm interested in building two 15" sealed but wondering what would be best. The 15" D2 or the 15" D4?

It's for a dedicated theater, and I can foresee the possibility of adding two more subs some day down the line.

I ordred the iNuke 3000DSP to go with them.

Depends. I'd go D4 personally, unless you're planning on grabbing a clone down the road. D4's can be wired in pairs for a 4ohm load, which mates up nicely to most pro amps bridged loads.

^ This.

The HT woofers don't need a lot of power to work at potential. Keep it near rated power and you will be fine. cool.gif

I think this is why I jump from hobby to hobby every couple years. I can't just sit around reading forums all the time and not do anything. I don't know how Scott S can keep this up. smile.gif

Because I'm really going, 'AAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" on the inside. Plus I'm really bored all the time saving money. I can't wait to finish this thing.
