Well I'm working on a band pass sub but, cant seem to get the specs right...so hopefully i can get so advice from the experts smile.gif I have made it before but It had a very deep low pass bass, Its sounded great indoors but outside the sound didn't go as far as i would like. the cab had in...
18" P.AUDIO P180/2241 HIGH POWER LOW FREQUENCY WOOFER
600 WATTS RMS AND 1200 WATTS PROGRAM POWER HANDLING

The speaker i like its really a kicker...but would like to know if its the right choice? Also I'd like to know the size Plywood I should use for best sound quality, I had made this one from 1/2'' ply but now realize the cab was too big for the 1/2'' ply...correct me if i'm wrong here I'm learning:) ok so you could just take a look at the photos and I have a couple others i wouldn't mind some advice on.

ok i hope to get some advice soon Thanks:)

two things. first be careful with the p.audio "clones". the clone of the jbl 2226h isn't even close to having the same specs, not sure about the 2241h.

second, i'm not sure what you get out of the 6th order bandpass relative to a simple ported enclosure. the ported is much simpler and seems to have the same sensitivity for a given size with the 2241h.

Listen. It's All Good.

It's nowhere near as good as the JBL and the one I had to test didn't have the same T/S as my real 2241's, but I'd have to dig through my notebook to find out what it actually was as this was several years ago.

Hey thank for the quick response for the help...and so you think the bandpass sub doesn't really make much sense? Do you think its Capable of Far throw if i was to play Field, Gymnasium or club? I'd really like your opinion:)

And also do you think if change the way the bass from the rear end of the speaker travel? like in the picture i had...Kind making it like a rear loaded horn instead? what you think ? I no mite not make sense but would love to hear your views.

I ran 2242's in the PA I designed, built and ran for years. However there are a ton of other drivers available I would use today simply because the drivers are less expensive but still very capable from B&C, Beyma, BMS, 18Sound, Faital Pro etc. Except FP, I have used drivers from all these brands and recommend them no less than JBL

The alignment I would use (again) is 6th order ported, NOT bandpass.
