I blame PE for selling the 30footers cheaper than the 6 footers.

Good luck on the build, and straightening that rats nest of wiring!

The hardest part I find about my job, isn't actually doing my job, rather it's the life-long inability to converse with anyone about my skills/interests and what it is that I do.

First off, only like 1% of the population actually has the ability to understand the fundamental constructs of what I do at a semi-detailed level... for example: as soon as I start talking about asynchronous function pointers and thread contention (just for starters), I see peoples eyes start to glaze over... so I don't even try anymore and everyone that knows me no longer bothers to ask me "what did you do today"
You mean sorta like an Asynchronous Procedure Call.. on Windows NT. for I/O-bound processes. ?.....on second thought considering who you work for and all....

I don't want to know what you guys are doing a very high probably I wouldn't understand it anyway TBH I barely understand what I just typed

I will eventually put DuraTex on them.
The to-do list on my theater is still fairly long and expensive. I'm slowly chopping away at it.

I can tell you that we evaluated this product, and it sucked (slow and inaccurate). So we made our own (better version).

Something like that anyways...
I just can't talk details that aren't already public-knowledge / publicly-accessible. (Similar to an NDA contract.)

We needed to hold a clearance level and be in a compartmentalized group to prevent intentional/accidental leakage of the private / confidential / restricted information and know-how;
and so that they could do a background check on us to ensure we were legit.

In the most restricted areas of the site and systems we had two other (separate) compartmentalized groups of people watching our activities; to prevent collusion. It was intimidating and high-pressure, like ALL THE TIME.
You don't dare venture outside of your designated work area or task, like EVER. That assuming you even had the access TO venture outside a given area (which you didn't, so you couldn't even have done it even if you wanted to. Almost 100% sure you'd be caught. )

remind me not to get on your bad side

I Can think of lot's of incumbent ,former and candidate politico's and officials that might warrant something like that

OTOH I've been included in NDA's in the private sector many times (fortune 100 companies ( it's routine at certain job levels,titles, functions and or exposures ) nothing like what you described though ...............except for a few I can never talk about
