i put two THTLP's together a while ago. i needed these to really blend in so i made them look like columns to match the walls and trim that will be in my basement. Powering them with two SA230 Dayton amps.

Nice outcome. Those would pass the WAF test, for sure.

Those look awesome!!!! As far as WAF is concerned, I bet you don't have as big an issue as some around here since she is allowing those Cornscalas in the main TV area!! haha. I looked at that build too and you achieved a gorgeous finish on those! What wood/stain did you use to attain that type of look? I love it!

Thanks Beast! Yeah, she actually really digs the cornscalas. They go along with our look we are going for in the basement.

The finish is just Minwax dark walnut. Then 3 applications of satin Armorseal. 0000 steel wool in between.

awesome, And also providential as I just scooped 4 sheets of that for the new speaker build. I will probably stick with the oak finish to match my subs, but the way it brought out the marbling in the wood is killer biggrin.gif Here is a pic of my finish work for reference.

Very cool. I love the rustic look stained Baltic birch cabinets have. No need for veneer IMO.

Agreed but I do want to try my hand at it at some point. I've seen some killer builds using veneer where they have achieved some really neat finishes. It does another step to the process and I enjoy the sanding/staining aspect of the build. It is truly fun to see the finish come out as you complete each step. The 0000 sanding really makes a huge difference too IMO

I'm pretty sure Beast's picture is not of stained baltic birch, but oak.

Oh. I thought it was a oak colored stain on birch.
