Tomorrow night is quite possibly the biggest show I have ever done, the #1 traveling DnB act in the world right now, Calyx and Teebee, are going to be in Buffalo. I am augmenting 8 18s built by a good friend from Buffalo. We will have a total of 25 subs at this show.

I managed to cram the van full to the gills with 17 subs:

I also set up 8U, 12U, and 2U rack cases to contain all of my processing and amplification:

Ashly NE8800m Processor
Ashly 3.6SP Processor
1 Ashly NE8250 Amplifier
2 Ashly KLR-2000 Amplifiers
3 Ashly KLR-3200 Amplifiers

4 12" Sundown SA-12
4 15" JBL 2225H
4 18" Beyma ????
3 18" FaitalPRO 18HP1060
1 21" RCF LF21N451
1 18" Kicker Solo X

More pics to follow, and probably some video!

A little black paint and you're all set!tongue.gif

On a serious note, how do you supply the power for the amps? Big generator? How noisy is it?

That is where it gets fun and is venue dependent. Some have proper distros and some don't. I have a ton of extension cord to grab power wherever, and a 220v breakout box that I can pull a good amount of juice off of if I can find a dryer outlet or stove. I have cut the end off an extension cord and wired it in the panel straight to a 20a breaker in a pinch.

Wi, why no horn subs? Clearly the superior choice above 20-30Hz if you got the space. What I would like to see though is something like a wall of LABs and Gjallerhorns below them wink.gif

So, what sort of comments do you get when you show up with a hodgepodge of subs that aren't necessarily a recognized commercial product?

I originally had horns, I started with 8 THTs. I prefer the tactile feel of direct radiating vented cabinets, and the nearfield air pressurization. Well, the folks attending the shows appreciate it anyways. Everyone was always asking me to turn up the horns and I was over 120db. That's why i wanted 140 at 20 for a long time.

Generally "Woah those are sick, what the heck are they?". Any question or curiosity is dispelled as soon as the system is turned on.

I don't think THTs are the right choice for the jobs you do. The LAB +GH combo would suit you while being somewhat economical as it is DIY, but hey if it ain't broke don't fix it biggrin.gif

The guys stepping up to the decks, the system was Teebee approved, that's a pretty high compliment:

Show went great, Teebee completely approved of the sound. Coming from someone that has traveled all over the world and been to all kinds of events, I consider that an accomplishment.

I made a couple of contacts and deals at this show that will be further bolstering the stack. More to come on that though as it happens.

Your threads like this always make me want to start a collection up for you to get a trailer... lol

Awesome as usual. I'd love to hear one of your shows but I'm way down here in Florida so that ain't gonna happen. I bet it's amazing.

It surprises me how much I can actually fit in the van. Could do some damage with a trailer too. I'd probably grab a 10 or 14' old uhaul truck or something at that point.
