Unfortunately i can't...My drop send quota under my free account is past the limit for the month. The files just won't go through email they always get kicked back as too big.

No problem, I don't need them right away anyway.smile.gif

Maintrain,
Yes the 15" 5400 works but you need to cut the cabinet width down from 24" to the 18-20" range for best results. Not difficult just subtract 4" from the width of all of the internal the panels and the front back and top and bottom.

Josh,
BTW, I wanted to tell you that you might be better served using DropBox or SkyDrive or Google drive, etc. for your file distribution.
They all allow you to share files via a one-click format and provide a link to distribute.

swapped out all six of my dts 10 drivers to LMSR and whoooooo what a difference. So much more solid feel and stronger hits. Im a firm believer in spending alittle more on your components. I still would love to hear one of these GH.

Jpmst,

Send me your email...

I was out of town all last week. I should have all the bracing finished this week,

Besides www.speakerhardware.com, anywhere else to buy Duratex online? They've been out of stock for a while now.

On the dual 15 type R Ghorn is the only change the dual 15 holes instead of the single 18" Ricci?

And do both 15's get loaded the same if one is behind the other in regards to where they start in the horn? Hope that makes sense. Don't think it will matter but wondered.

Go straight to Acrytech. I ordered from them last week and got it in 2 days.

No there are some other changes. I have separate plans for that build. And the drivers will load slightly differently but looking at Akabak it should be negligible with the two evening each other out. Most of the major differences in loading for the 2 drivers occur up higher in the bass range anyway.

Shipping for 3 gallons was almost $60...

Surprisingly, speakerhareware.com is back in stock (wasn't this morning), and shipping was only $15.

Would there be an ideal ratio to scale this design down to smaller drivers? Im looking at re-vamping my lms-r 12in setup at the moment and wouldn't mind tackling a new project.

I wish. I only have bracing done in 3 of the folds in each sub so far. I would have been done with the bracing by now if I wasn't out of town all last week.

Oh ok, it seemed like you were flying through the build. I just got my Micro done yesterday and that was a slow pace. Everyone here seems to go extremely fast compared to me.eek.gif

Way cool! I can't wait to see more details.

How does the performance stack up against the single LMS?

Haha...You probably won't see any further details unless you want to build it. There is also a 3x12" version.

Actually at least in sim land it stacks up well. The extra cone area means that the excursion for the 15's is 33% less than the 5400. Also you have 2 coils so the power to each is less. Whether that matches up with the 5400 in the real world I cant say for sure but it should be capable of similar outputs for sure. The response is not quite as good. Sensitivity is comparable. Distortion and compression behavior is the question mark. In the US the drivers are $400 a pair which makes it a cheaper option.

Starting today:

Gjallarhorn x 3
Ohorn x 1

Probably will take two weeks just to cut everything....

Tell me about it! I have been getting a LOT of requests for the plans since you started this thread not to mention all of the usual questions about construction and whether a cheap car woofer can be used! Jerk...biggrin.gif

How close are you anyway? Another week or two? I'm looking forward to hearing what you think.

Also if you get a chance post up those response flattening Gjallarhorn EQ settings for the minidsp and the DCX that I sent you. Since it seems like some others are building these it might be worthwhile to get that info out there more.

Will do. I've built some THT's and the DTS-10 kit but it's time to take it to the next level.

I just got one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Festool-TS-55-EQ-Circular/dp/B002UJOKD2 so we shall see how it does with all the cutting.

Have the parallel guides for doing all the 22.5 cuts and hope I can keep each piece within a 1/10th of a mm or so. Otherwise out comes the router for flush trimming them all to size.

Yes please, I'll be using a minidsp as well. I will of course be measuring once they are setup but that will help.

Ricci, any other Ohorn's in existence right now? Dom (who emailed you yesterday asking for the plans) and I are building these together. He is going 1 x Gjallarhorn with his LMS 5400 and the Ohorn. I'll be doing 2 x Gjallarhorn's with the UXLs

The only other Othorns I am aware of besides mine were one that Mike Bentz had built and a guy in Europe who built one but used a different driver...
