I'm contemplating a DIY build with a Car Audio sub I have. Do you think I could get this driver to work well in a home theater environment?

Image Dynamics ID10 v3
Fs 20Hz
Qes .368
Qms 2.95
Qts .33
Vas 3.3CuFt
Xmax 17.0mm
Sd 350cm^2
Spl 85.5dB
Pwr 250RMS

Any comments? Off the top of my head I think a 10" may be too small, but the Fs and Xmax looks good, right?

Provided the specs are accurate, that driver plus an identical buddy should work acceptably well in my signature design. It's not ideal, but not too bad either.

The specs really need to be verified for accuracy first, though.

The tapped horn/ folded horn designs seem a bit intimidating. I'm more comfortable with the WinISD type of designs.

With your supplied data, a 4^3 ft. ported box and a 20 Hz tune I got 105 dB at 20 Hz. I don't know how great this is since I haven't finished my first real sub build. This is compared to my JL Audio 10W7 build. You're in blue i'm in yellow. My sub is pretty much exactly 6 dB higher than you from 20 Hz and up. If you build another one of the same size and power you'd gain 6 dB and would pretty much be exactly on the same curve as my one sub. smile.gif As mentioned before I think to get any type of enjoyment out of it you'd have to build two.
