I have two of bills THT subs and they do great for their frequency range.

has anyone tried his home theater speakers like the SLA speakers??? how would they compare to my polk M70's ... My dillemma now is that my M70 cabinets are too big for my home theater room and dip into the screen of my projector (too tall)... I have no experience with the SLA's personally so I was wondering if building a pair of these would be on par or better than the M70's? or whether I should just buy a set of solid bookshelf speakers to replace my M70's for hometheater ONLY use... (and what bookshelves would compare in the highs and mids)

interesting, do they come with all the internal stuff like Crossovers ready to go so when I'm done building I can just plug them into my onkyo 605 or is something like this gonna need it's own amp?

You assemble the crossover yourself. Parts included in the kits. Your avr will power them just fine

sweet, that gives me something else to look for. as for "quality of sound" is there anything to compare them to? I just don't want to DOWNGRADE, sound quality wise from my M70's (even though I never use the subwoofers in them due to having subs)

When you say M70's, are you talking about the Monitor 70's? I did not know they had subs in them. If so, it's not even close. The SEOS will be better performers in every way. Totally out classed.

yup, the monitor 70's... I take it back, they have 4 6.5 inch woofers, but I swore I read they had subs in them,,, ah well I'm going crazy... even then I never use the low ends on them (which I never use cuz I cross them off at 80hz in my receiver.

which one of the SEOS kits would you recommend? there seems to be a myriad of them

With your avr and the fact these will be crossed over at 80hz for home theater, I would personally get the Deltalight 12 flat pack kits for the front three

I haven't built the SLAs, but I did build a pair of TLAHs:

...and also recently built 3 SEOS based:

I'm using them in different rooms for different purposes, so a little hard to compare - TLAHs are in my home office, for music listening only, with no subs; the SEOS are serving as the LCR speakers in my HT, with a pair of THT LPs as subs, used 70% movies / 30% music. I really should drag the TLAHs out to the HT, pair them with the subs, to see how they fare in a bigger room with better acoustics and subs.

Please do. I'm in the process of building 7 tlahs (two will be upstairs for music listening, the other 5 in an 11.x sound system). I'd love to know how they stack up vs the seos 12s for theater. I've seen your build thread over on bill's site

So did you get a chance to try the TLAHs in the home theater yet?
