Hi all,

I just received a subwoofer driver and the first thing I noticed was that there a couple of mild scratches on the center dust cap. The subwoofer material is quoted as being "Fiber Composite, Poly Coated"; nothing aluminum or otherwise too exotic. No punctures, dents, or tears. I'd say the scratch depth isn't deep, but is more than just an faint surface scratch. Something mild to moderate I guess. The two scratches were less than 1/4" long each, with a scratch width less than a pencil tip's size.

I connected it and it's sounding good. In terms of audible, real-world use sound quality or durability, should I be concerned? I'm such a worrier sometimes. 8)

Unless air leaks through it, it's irrelevant

Dented dust caps can result in response zits in the midrange. That's not a concern with a sub.
