Well the receiver I'm wanting to connect them to can handle 6 or 8 ohm, so I am wanting to make sure I won't do any damage to it. So I was hoping I could figure out what the load would be before connecting anything.
The chips in most the receivers are rated down to 3 ohms and can drive stuff even below that. The 6-8 ohms rating is just there because that is the load they will handle without overheating at the max rated power for extended periods of time. The lower the impedance the higher the current for a given power level and with more current come more heat which is the true enemy here.
