SI doesnt make the 15 anymore. BUT there were a few B-Stocks of the 15 that were for sale a while back.

I know I was playing well above 100dB, but it was showing me around 75dB. I used the correction file for the UMIK-1 and I've never adjusted the sensitivity on the mic, dunno what was up. Anyway, the response looks pretty great to me. I ran through audyssey xt32, and I think it helped smooth out the peaks, but I haven't measured in room yet. Sounds great. I've been playing some of the scenes from Interstellar at reference with the sub at around 3-5dB hot...I swear I'm flexing my drywall like 1/2 an inch.

Looks good from here.

Can you guys offer any advice on where to get decent plywood? I've looked at Lowes and HD, but they don't have Aurauco (no surprise there). The only only ply that looked reasonably good was around $50/sheet, and even then I'm not sure of the quality. Both stores have some birch, but it looked to be 8 or so layers.

Any other suggestions?

Dude, are you made of leprechauns? Cause that was awesome!

I source from Wurth, but the closest to you is in GA. Do a google for "specialty plywood" and see what turns up. Woodford is one name but I'm not sure how close you are.

Worst case, I've used plywood from Lowes that was primed on one side.. it had a lot of plys. I think it was labeled whitewood or blondewood or something.. No voids to speak of and was ok to work with. I did find it would warp if you left it alone. Would be my last choice, but it does work.

In general, more plys are better, correct?

I may check with our local cabinet shop. I've bought wood from them in the past, but I'd rather not take advantage of their hospitality in the event I need something more exotic than plywood in the future.

Generally speaking, more plys is more better, but you want to watch out form some of the cheaper plywood. Some of it as these paper thin surface veneers. I've found they are prone to delamination, and since those are what you are gluing to, it can really weaken your glue joints, and it looks ugly.

Thanks for the info! I believe I saw what you are referring to on one of the sheets of ply at HD.

I may have found some Arauco. It's hard to say for sure with the difference between my Alabama dialect and the one the guy on the phone was using, but I'll find out tomorrow.
