You should now. lol.

Once finished, I gotta hear your impressions of the sound.

I'll do the sanding and painting of the first speaker while #2 gets glued up. Excited.

Oh yeah! Therrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre it is. It was in my left pocket, not my right. tongue.gif

They should both be done a day apart. The port will go in #2 tonight, the baffle rings in both (long as weather holds out), and the bottom on #1.

Phantom center. A center for this just isn't feasible. Luckily, between the design and Trinnov on my setup, you won't even realize there is no center speaker.

Honestly, a properly done R+L ca nsound quite good. I tossed around going phantom center before building mine. I'm sure it will kick ass.

Are these going to be slot ported? (sorry if you already mentioned this, I am just being lazy!) How long are ports? I can't wait to hear your a/b comparision to the other speakers that you mentioned!

Not a problem MArty. These are slot ported (that is what the L shaped board is. The port runs the length of the bottom and up the back. Once the cabinet is complete I will flush trim and roundover the port at the Front-bottom of the cabinet.

I am not aware if I am allowed to mention specifics, so I will let Vincent make mention if he would like.

Me too! The last set of horn loaded speakers I heard were VERY different in tonal quality than my Khanspires.

Are there any issues with having the port opening so far from the drivers?

As far as I know, all instructions and design rec's came from someone at AE. Again, another question for Vincent to answer. Design is not my strong point, but I know enough to not mess it up and to build it. biggrin.gif I just follow the plans. tongue.gif

John from AE was very helpful in modeling the cab and slot port earlier in the thread. We slightly modified the original dimension numbers to use with 13" ply to make it easier to build. The idea was to use the size of the tower cab to the driver's advantage, and use it to create a highly capable full range tower. There are very few tower SEOS designs compared to the smaller kits, and I hope these become a template to build off of for anyone interested.

These should be able to take 750w if desired, and keep vent velocity at bay. The port being away from the driver shouldn't affect it as far as I know. If anything, its desired. It will be one of the first builds showing off those new sexy anodized aluminum phase plugs too. Once I gloss this cab up, the whole thing should look and sound extremely sexy. It will complement my SI 18's quite well.

I'm very interested in seeing in room response and excursion with the 32hz tune. I'm guessing I can hit somewhat similar output compared to my BIC F12 in my upstairs family room smile.gif

With the SEOS waveguide and that DNA-360 CD, it shouldn't sound anything like horns that you and I are used to. This is why I'm very interested in hearing these.

I've only heard Acoustech and Klipsch horns in my setup. They sacrificed clarity for SPL. Shouldn't be the case with these.

I heard eD's cinema line, both 6 inch and 12 inch. They were STUPID clear and at ear hurting levels. First time I had experienced that. But they definitely did not sound like traditional loudspeakers with dome tweets.

Now that you say they shouldn't sound like that I am over the top eager to hear them!

Better waveguide, better driver, better woofer, better crossover, better cabinet. Should blow it away and increase imaging and depth by quite a big margin compared to the eD's.
