From now forth, ALL members are required to use this as their system-calibrator test.
This should be a new mandatory THX-DTS Intro in ALL theaters.

I figure this is ~213db @ 25miles distance. (~60kT)

related discussion in the Audio forum:
http://www.avsforum.com/t/1458611/audio-related-db-estimates-on-the-spl-of-meteorite-that-exploded-over-russia-yesterday-anybody-have-seen-figures

Check out the FEMA article

This chapter discusses blast effects, potential school damage, injuries, levels of protection, stand-off distance, and predicting blast effects. Specific blast design concerns and mitigation measures are discussed in Chapters 2 and 3

Since 155 db spl is the lower limit to break glass, that seems to be the "target" to shoot for, as it seems structures were not destroyed/flattened by the pressure wave from what has been known so far.
Chart psi <> db

From another post:
Quote:
Air starts to break down at 194 dB SPL. This was certainly much louder than that, but it would be totally distorted so it falls in the shock wave category. On the ground you would have to calculate the distance from the explosion and keep in mind that the intensity would drop as 1/dist^2

I'm going to see if I can get the original file from that youtube user. Then I can extract the original audio if it isn't mp3.

Has anyone listened to this on their sub set-up?
Or analyzed the audio portion?

Anyone know where Tom Danley was during this ... so called meteorite?

Sources close to the situation cite the Zambelli family gurus, and Tom Danley, all flew into Moscow the day before all this went down.

Zambelli handled the visuals, Danley covered the audio.

It's all fake, ... just another example of the man keepin' you down.

Say what?
How does it keep us down, explain?

It doesn't affect me in the slightest. Unless they are planning on breaking my home's windows? confused.gif
and what is their motive? Glass Insurance Scandal? biggrin.gif

I'm more likely to believe that it was a North Korean atmospheric weapon, and that they "thought" they were over top of North America, trying to get us back for some of the 1950's Korean War stuff and current sanctions applied etc.
They did launch a space object and a nuke test just a few days ago after all. tongue.gif

Well ... I didn't think anyone would actually take me seriously.
