Not sure if this is the best place for this question but I am trying to find out what I should do about replacement or extra insulation in a JBL Control 25T speaker. I bought a few Control 25T speakers a few years back when I found out you could by-pass the transformer inside and use them as 8ohm speakers. I just got around finally to working on prep and painting them and I realized I could remove the transformer that I by-passed and make the speakers a lot lighter. Looking at the speaker case with it removed it seems like it might be a good idea (or not) to add more insulation or to fill up the empty space left behind. A friend of mine suggested some shredded denim jean material wadded up. Any one have any ideas? I would like to keep this low cost as possible so would any fiberglass be ok or not? I see small bags of quick fill fiberglass for window frame cracks for a few dollars or buying a single acoustical fiberglass ceiling tile and cutting it down into chunks to use in a few speakers? Do you think either would work or should i look for something different?
