Hey guys,

I have an extra 15" driver and plate amp to sell, but have no idea how to pack and ship them? What are your recommendations for how to do this? Have you had issues with the weight of shipping this sort of thing, are your buyers typically ok with the high costs to ship something so heavy?

Thanks!

First off you should ship those separately to avoid damage. If the plate amp is enclosed in the back then it should be easy enough to pack up, if it is open in the back so you see all the electronics it will need to be suspended in the box so it does not get damaged.

For the sub if you have any spare wood and can cut out a mounting hole you could make a mounting board like JL Audio does it with there W7 subs, I attached a pic.

You use that to suspend the woofer in the box from the top and the bottom, neither side will be in contact with the shipping box so the shipping box can be hit but not come in contact with the sub. It really just depends on how heavy the 15" sub you are selling is, if it's heavy then protect it well or it will probably get damaged in shipping.

Thanks mjaudio that was exactly what I'm looking for. The wood for holding the sub is excellent.
