Anyone have any luck?

I love them, but they are just too much. We just bought a new house and I really need to downsize. I have two THT's listed for $800 and that includes the EP4000 amp! I haven't gotten a single bite!

What the eek.gif...

I'll separate if I have to.

Yeah, DIY speakers can be hard to sell. I've had my ported 15" Eminence 3015LFs and 18sound 18LW2400s on craigslist for less than the cost of just drivers for 3 months and got 1 nibble. Haven't even tried to sell my beatup THTs yet, they're just sitting in a shed. I'll probably end up selling the drivers separately and having a bonfire with all the enclosures smile.gif

I live in Northwest Arkansas and I think I have seen your ad on Craigslist which most people don't have a clue as to what a THT even is. I think your only chance of selling them is on one of these forums where people know that $800 for that is a great deal. If I had more room I would have snatched those up, but until I buy a bigger house those would barely fit in my garage.

Good luck though!

I wish I could. I would love to get my hands on some THT's but I just built some small sealed subs and I really don't have room for them until we move.

Like other have said, no one knows what they are. It's possible you may get a bite but in my experience, taking out the driver and just selling it on it's own is your best bet. The enclosures are worthless but the drivers and amp can still make you $400-$500.

I have have had both of mine listed for about two weeks and no one has bitten, amps included. I am considering taking out the drivers as N8DOGG said and selling them. Shame, they are killer and for the price with amps one cannot get more >20 Hz bass...they are huge though and local pickup does limit sales in dedicated audio circles.

Curious why you guys are selling. I know they mostly get favorable reviews. Are you upgrading?

For myself. They are overkill. I went overboard. These things should be in a AMC theatre, not in my basement. LOL

It may be visible on the desktop web, but I don't see it on mobile -- where are these THTs for sale?

If I was a buyer that is unfamiliar with the THT, a link to BFM's page that describes it would be useful info to me. However, I suppose that I'm already deeply in the niche that would see the value in a big sub. Many potential buyers are probably under the mistaken impression that small speakers are the pinnacle of performance through the wonders of modern technology. Perhaps playing up the large size, high output, and the incredible value would appeal to certain buyers. "My sub is bigger and badder than your sub." A brief comparison of extension and max SPL to a commercial sub, such as the most expensive one commonly available at Best Buy, could supply a motivating frame of reference for the performance and value. Many people would love to outperform the "best" at a fraction of the price.

that's not the craigslist ad. thats the management page which you do not want to share with other people. Search for your item on craigslist and then copy the url from your address page.

I sold mine in the St. Louis area a couple of months back for $150, which is fast approaching what you could pull the driver out and sell it for. No bites while listed for a month or so at $200.

Id be interested in one or both without the amplifiers, but I'm up here in Minnesota. I don't have a woodworker friend up here to use tools to assist me in building a couple more, I wish I had built 3 THT's instead of just one when I had the chance when I lived in Kansas.

I'd sell both THT's without the amp.
