Don't get me wrong, it's pretty awesome lol. My first measurements are looking like the G-horn is about 2-3 of my 21's, which is what I expected. I think in my case it's going to have to be 4 at least.... tongue.gif
Though I did have the G-horns AND my 21's a rocking and I think If I can get them dialed in right, I'm gonna keep it that way biggrin.gif

Question:

Audyssey XT32 on my Onkyo 818 is setting the distance to the Ghorns at the distance from the mouth. Tried different things with just one running, moving the mic to a foot in front of the mouth, etc. It always gave the correct distance to the mouth but it sounds like it should be including some delay for the horn path as well no?

Here is a graph:

Purple: Just one Ghorn
Yellow: Just Mains (SEOS12 with Deltalites)
Green: Both

Really nice saw.

How much does the track set up cost?

It's about 550$ for the saw / track from Festool. Festool is the very high end of these things, there are several other options as well that are a bit cheaper.

Really really like it though. Great tool to have!

I took one of the horns out of my room and am adding 4 more sealed 21's. They are just to big for my room at the moment.

So four 21's is smaller? Just playing wink.gif ..... Do you have any pics to post? I would really like to see your 21's. I am having the same issue with my horn sub and am replacing it with 4 18's soon.

Nice!

Are you using the FTW-21s?

I can relate. The GJALLARHORNs are a little big for my room too. I may still build them. I am ready to move on from the DTS-10 realm and into something new.

I might inquire as to whether anyone might by willing to do a refold so that the cabs are longer but not as tall. Ugh, there just is no perfect size/diesign!

Well, I should have said the G-horns AS WELL as my 4 x 21's lol.

2 G-horns is very close to the same size of 8 x 21's stacked 4 on each side behind my couch. I do have pics but they are not current. My basement is currently under tarps and plastic as our upstairs is being renovated but the HT portion should be back to normal this week..... hopefully. I'll post some pics once it's cleaned up.

Yup, The G-horns hammer under 30hz but give up too much to the sealed subs above that. I currently have one of the G-horns in storage and the other is still in the HT but pointed directly at the back of the couch for some tactile feel wink.gif

Since this thread is back from the dead I figured I would answer this question.

4X8 sheets of Baltic Birch are generally shop grade, at least that's what I can get here in S. Cali. It will generally have one good side and the other will have football shaped patches were there were knots or defects on the veneer side. Sometimes it has the patches on both sides but it is a void free 13 ply. Just ask around lumber yards for shop grade 4x8 BB and if they don't have it they should be able to point you to someone who does.

I dont think there needed to be one. There was a refold on the Ghorn. I dont believe anyone has built the V2 refold yet.

I have the plan from Josh, but I have not built it. Someone must have built it by now.

I think this will be the first person to build one AND have a thread. Ghorn seems to be slowing dying off only because of the size and available drivers.

Can't you use a UXL instead of LMS? Or even a Sundown ? I think it's mostly the difficulty of the build. Most just settle for a marty.
