Old: 3CF Sealed box, 15" Dayton Ultimax, (2+2 ran in 4 ohm)

New: ???

I would like to keep the old boxes if possible, but could be persuaded to change.

I'd like to spend under $600 for anything I do, but will justify $800 if a huge gain can be made. Cost of labor not included. Plywood is $40 a sheet for 4x8 Birch.

Amp is an iNuke NU6000DSP.

Considerations:

TC Sounds
Stereo Integrity
Dayton again
Switch to 18" Sealed boxes and run 2 of something else
Run Quad 15s in a DO Box

My room has plenty of bass as it is. I'm just wanting some clean bass for a good value that I won't blow.

In all seriousness, I think you already know my opinion - Two dual opposed SI 15's or 18s would work great in the D4 variant with your Inuke and should provide long-term reliability.

A scaled down approach would be Twin SI 18's (single enclosures, D4) wired in 8 ohm stereo with your inuke. This should let them live for quite a while.

FYI - It's likely mine will be one of the more conservative recommendations on here. biggrin.gif

Hardly. tongue.gif

I would agree with Andrew. I really like the multiple sealed builds. Pair of SI's would be perfect for that Inuke and well within budget.

Andrew is beign conservative....32 Dayton 18"ers!! biggrin.gif

I think his suggestions are solid. Two dual opposed 18s of either will be awesome

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to go with the twin SI 15 D4 setup. I'll run each in 8 ohms with the iNuke 6000.

It's either that or the TC LMS-R. Huge price difference and I can't seem to find any good justification.

Carlo!

Tell us about the SI 15's? People are interested in hearing your impressions vs. the Dayton UM-15.

My instinct tells me that you aren't able to tell much of a difference between the two (Similar to the Dayton HO vs the SI 18), but still interested in hearing your impressions. Do you have any pics of the two subs side-by-side? Outside of the box?

Did you only have one UM-15, or did you have two? Are 3-4 15's doing it for you in your space?
