I am looking to replace my JBL L890 mains with a SEOS build. I would like more clarity and openness. I want to hear the faint creak of a floor in a movie track as clear as a rock-nroll cowbell. I have had some of this discussion with Erich via email, just looking to get a little more feedback.
I will be building a theater in a new home sometime in the not-too-distant future. The room will be 25X16X9. I am pushing 60 so I am not looking for reference levels, (although I do like loud) because my years of loud rock have taken their toll in terms of tinitis. My plan is to use sound containment best practices in the new build, as well as treatments to get the best possible sound out of the room.
My question is, how much, if anything would I gain by building the Tempest 12 as opposed to the Cheap Thrill? My current plan is to cross these to my Outlaw subwoofers. I'll be driving these with Crown XLS 402s.
