these are the parameters on the other project. This is being pushed by 500w. The xmax on modeling shows it to be well within spec of the excusion at the 500w. I only am pushing about 200w and run into the xmax/xmech issue.
In the eq filter section add in that 20 hertz boost of 5 db. then look at the woofer excursion portion and see.
I cant use WinISD at work but I can use Unibox. and I am using a base dual PR with 900g on each for a tune of 27 hertz. So please if I have my numbers not even close, let me know!!
Anyway, I am seeing with 200 watts the woofer doing 13mm of excursion at 20 hertz. WITHOUT the 5 db of boost. So unless my tuning is way off due to a oops on my part, that 5db is gonna add a bunch of extra excursion.
I have tried the adjustments again. i have 1200gr to each pr. net box volume was 2.4 cube. at that with putting 300w on the model i am showing an excursion of just below 16mm. which should be in spec. if you get a chance tonight take a look and let me know what your showing.
hmmm.. either I have inserted a wrong number, or Unibox models the performance of a PR system differently then WinISD.
With the parameters I took from the CSS website and doing 994g and 1984g in case iwas wrong how Unibox uses the weight info, I get a 23 or 26 hertz tune in a 70l enclosure volume. Hopefully someone will come on here and let me know if unibox is not a tool to use!
here are a couple options i am working through on size for the new project of the PSI 12" with dual PR's. What else should i be concentrating on other than the SPL. My xmax on both the sub and PR's are both in check. what other issues do i need to be aware of on this build as earlier posted my previous project with another sub had an issue so let me know thought.
