I would assume the price ("free shipping") has to be reworked after he sold a couple and found out how much shipping actually is.

I'm sure that Erich is still figuring stuff out, or is too busy to update. It's read when it's ready, as the saying goes smile.gif just keep an eye on his website.

I'm one of those ones that just needs the DNA-205 compression drivers and the SEOS-10 waveguides. I already bought the woofers from PE and have all the crossover components here in my stacks of storage tubs full of caps, inductors, resistors, etc.

I won't object if Erich is willing to sell me a set of baffles for LCR as well..... but if he wants to reserve those only for people that buy the whole kit like he's done in the past, that's fine. These are supposed to be time saver builds rather than me doing the grunt work of designing my own speakers. Part of my plan to kill off some of my too long list of project speakers and just get something together quickly to use that is inexpensive and won't cost me $6K if the little guy decides to beat on them. I even bought extra woofers (since they are so cheap) just in case he does to them what he did to a set of JBL woofers that were here. Dustcaps are like a moth to a flame for him.... they don't last more than 30 seconds if he's left alone with them... gonna need to rig up some sort of grill for these so he isn't tempted smile.gif

Erich, I sent you an email a week ago asking to order just the CDs and waveguides (and baffles if you'll sell them). In addtion to no full kits on the website anymore, there's currently no way to order the CDs or waveguides on the website either. I'm ready to paypal you the funds as soon as you give me a total. You know I'm not one to dance around and not follow through. Patiently sitting with an itchy trigger finger to send you more money........

When it appears on his website, where is it...home page, SEOS kits, speaker kits??? It is still too cold to build anything in my non heated workshop, but I still want to grab a kit ASAP...smile.gif

Thanks! Now I know where to keep looking...smile.gif

Erich, if you read this, I would like to order one COMPLETE center channel kit and am ready to go with the money. I know you have been having problems with "partial' kit orders, but my order will be real easy...biggrin.gif

Just drop me a PM if you are not too busy, or if I don't hear from you I will wait until the kit reappears on your site....no pressure...

Its ready to go. Erich asked if I was able to eliminate some XO components. I will try, but I don't think its worth it. I just don't think dropping $10 off the price of a speaker is worth a downgrade in performance. But if I can do it without the downgrade I will. But ya, if someone needed the design its ready. But of course that has caused complications in the past since you have to go through Erich for the 205 and SEOS 10.

Thanks..........is the design similar to where the 2 mids are below the waveguide?

It's just a SEOS10 with DNA-205 over a Delta 10A woofer. No midrange section.

Oh...OK.  I thought it was with 5" mids because of the "TM" reference.  Shows you what little i know.  :)

Ah, ya, I can see how that's confusing. It's a TW I guess wink.gif

Those celestion mids can't really meet up with a sub...

Even if you make them for the surrounds?  I know it's not a good use of your time but i was thinking how the smaller form factor would be cool with those with somewhat space constraints.  It can be billed as Tux's 5.0 :D

It could be done. And would make a decent surround. But beyond helping someone do it, I wasn't gonna go down that path. I'm not sure how popular it would actually be.

I completely understand and i don't have the skills to do it.  I agree it wouldn't be popular unless your 1099's become the "shiznitz" at the Sound Group.

I was only hoping to reduce the number of crossover parts for the new Fusion-10 if it didn't change the frequency response very much. It would make for easier assembly for guys that are new to the game. So if there were 2 parts added to flatten out a 2db droop or peak around 12khz, I'd wonder if it was needed for the Fusion line.

If it was the Alpha Line, I wouldn't mind if it used 20+ crossover parts.

Speaker designers can work with and assemble crossovers with their eyes closed. So to them, extra parts is no big deal because they're usually dangling off the top of the speaker box anyway, with wires going all over the place. biggrin.gif But they might forget about the other guys that barely know what an iron core inductor even is. So coming together to hit in between is what makes the Fusion Line stand out so much.

What, no... not me. My prototype XO'ers are clean and tidy and use high grade components every time tongue.gif

I do understand it would be good to simplify the XO. I think I am able to get 2 parts out of the tweeter circuit. I gotta be sure though.

It could be done pretty easily if someone wanted to. I have all the measurements here and ready to go. It just wouldn't be a fully designed and vetted XO. But the basic stuff is already confirmed.

Tux, in Fatshaft's thread you said that the woofers were delayed...any idea on a new ETA?

BTW, I don't know if these questions were answered earlier, but what is the nominal impedance of the 1099 and what is the power handling? I know that they don't need a lot of power since they are 99 db sensitivity, but they will be hanging with my present speakers that are ~102 db sensitivity, and I tend to push them pretty hard...biggrin.gif I am feeding my system with 400 WPC, all channels driven, at 4 ohms.

Hey Bob. Its 8ohm with a minimum of about 6 at 150hz and 4.5 at 1khz. I'm going by memory. I posted an impedance plot on the OP I think.

The woofers were delayed until the 21st.

The power handling depends on the XO point, but it's about 400watts for an 80hz XO and normal program content.

Sounds like you're gonna find the limits of this thing redface.gif

The deltas are in stock from other vendors but I know it causes difficulty for Erich in assembling the kits when individual parts are purchased separately.
