I have the tapped horn flat packs, I'm just waiting on the custom shipping boxes. If anyone has ideas for small subwoofer boxes, I'll try to get some made up as well.

If anyone knows a good size for some subwoofer boxes for the Anarchy, I'll try to get some boxes cut for them.

gtpsuper24, right now you'd have to glue 2 tapped horns together, I'm not sure if there is any dual design out there yet.

I have a few dual-driver tapped horn designs that I am playing with, nothing final yet though.

Nothing wrong with the tapped horns, I just think people want more options like maybe a .75cuft ported subwoofer.

But I stink at figuring out what box size a driver needs and what they should be tuned at.

Well, no one delivered, I went and picked them up close to the airport.....in my dumptruck. biggrin.gif

3 normal pallets, and a smaller one. Shipping ended up being around $3000. eek.gif

About 2.5 tons of Anarchys.........

I would be very interested in the correct size box made up for a couple sealed boxes...maybe a ported box also but I also suck at calculating what is needed for a certain size driver...

Now that the Anarchys are back I just want to revisit an old experiment I did with two drivers in a single fold tapped horn for behind a sofa or row of seating, maybe disguised as columns. Just in case anyone else wants to have some fun.

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1349578/the-buttzooka-single-fold-dual-anarchy-tapped-horn-experiment/0_40

It was big. and heavy

Well I posted up a thread on ROE for potential ported/sealed designs for the Anarchy. I have very limited knowledge as to box design. Hopefully they can come up with a few designs for you Erich.

I know with car audio when designing a ported box generally a tuning of 30-35Hz is good for a daily setup. Will play the lows fine and have the ability to get into the upper reign.

Just got my driver in today. Expertly packed as always. Thanks Erich!

Quick question: I was just checking the driver to make sure it was alright, and in my free-air testing I could hear a little bit of a fluttering sound when the cone was moving a good bit. I wasn't anywhere near Xmax, but I could see the cone moving a fair amount. Is this fluttering sound normal? I'd just like to make sure my driver is good (which I'm sure Erich already did, but just in case) before I close it up in lilmike's tapped horn.

Well I've been playing around with sealed and ported designs with the help of a friend and its not looking good as far as sealed goes for a Sub setup. Ported on the other hand is possible. I've been messing with box sizes and seems .75 cu ft is a good number for the Anarchy. Also a 3" aero port should be good as well.

Erich, for those of us who didn't specify what resistance we wanted on the preorder how do we go about letting you know?

I ordered two 8ohm and one 4ohm. When you go to finalize your checkout you can order a mix and match depending on what you want. (i.e. add 2 8ohm to your cart then add 1 4ohm to your cart).

70-100Wrms depending on where you set the HPF. Somewhere in the range of 20-25hz

so i could safely power 2 of these off a Inuke1000 DSP which @ 8ohms is ~160 peak per channel

Can you explain more on your findings with the sealed box?

People have to remember this driver is designed to be a mid-range driver. It's not intended to be a Subwoofer. That shows when you model it up. It's defiantly an impressive driver.

WinISD (this by no means reflects real world performance, but is a good visual of what it could be):

IMO its not really worth trying for sealed as far as Subwoofer use. Ported is more manageable but the best would be the Anarchy Horn. It's just my findings for the driver.

@Erich

I know the T/S Parameters shouldn't change but would be a good idea to get a updated list up on the main Anarchy page.

These are from the previous years:

SPECIFICATIONS
Fs = 45.8HZ
Qes = 0.48
Qms = 6.37
Qts = 0.44
Vas = 9.61L
Sd = 131cm^2
Xmax = 12.5 mm one-way
Re = 6.4 Ohms
Le = 0.84 mH
BL = 10.79 N/A
Power: 125W Approx: No IEC testing conducted
Spl = 84.7 dB/1W/1M
