I am looking at building DYI speakers for 7.2 surround for my dedicated Home Theater room the room is a bonus room over the garage but very large. It is 19W x 22L with 10’ ceiling in front (7’knee walls) and 9’ceiling on riser (6’ knee walls). I will have an acoustical transparent screen 24” from front wall. I want L/C/R matching vertical behind screen. Here is my build thread http://www.avsforum.com/t/1468993/the-retirment-dream-home-theater I was looking at many DYI kits and I am down to three. The surrounds and rears will need to fit in my columns and will be limited to 15”W x 11”D x 14”H, I would like to keep the LCR and sourounds under $1000 and the 2 subs under $1000

Bill. I. Read your build thread .nice theater and thank you for your service !!

I don't think u could go wrong with any of the seos designs But at minimum.I would look at
4. Fusion 8's for surrounds. Note these are 17" tall
3. Tempest 12's. For. LCR.
2. Dayton or. Stereo integrity 18" subs with the 4 cu. Ft. Flatpacks with a ep 4000 or a cv 2800 to drive them.

Both the fusion and tempest are designed by Jeff Bagby. .I'm sure you'll get some more input from some of the other guys. There very helpful

Do you require a flat pack? Or can you build your own.

At $1000 I'd say 3 Fusion Pure and 5 Kahrma 8. That'll be more like $1100 but a pretty good way to go. 97db mains will go a long ways in your theatre.

The smallest waveguide kits uses an 8" woofer so that doesn't leave a lot of room for the waveguide. If you could somehow add another 2 inches to your columns then you could fit them in.

If you can build your own boxes, then you can get them quite a bit shorter. Go sealed and make it as tight as possible. Just ask the designer for the XO.

Are these in a wall? As often as it happens, that's not ideal unless using a design specifically for in-wall use. There are a few available.
