Before jumping all in I'd use that iNuke amp for a while and then switch back to something else for a while and see if you notice a difference.

I didn't notice the difference at first. Told myself all amps sound the same. They don't. I ended up selling all of my iNukes. I don't like them on mains.

Notnyt tested one of the iNukes and it didn't measure very well at all. Distortion at higher frequencies. The results are in the Measuring Amplifiers thread from a while back.

Can you describe your testing methodology in a little more detail?

The distortion measured is inaudible to the human ears and lower than speakers.

I did distortion measurements on the 228ht and the crown x1000 which is a rebadged crown xli 800. The inuke dsp 3000 had less distortion measured on the 228ht than the budget crown did.

I've not heard the 4 channel 6000 unit but I would assume its similar.

Only time I heard an inuke amp on mains was at @carp 's house and he had an inuke6000 powering his mains. I heard no obvious SQ issues. Sounded great.

Remember that .47% distortion at 6khz was at Max Spl which we won't even come close to using. I wonder how much distortion there is at 50 watts and 10 watts which my system uses.

I've gone back and forth about this... Jeff at JTR recommends using something better but I'd bet a lot of money I wouldn't be able to tell the difference and I just love the dsp on the inuke.

I don't think it's the % of distortion in the inuke's that would be audible, but rather the 3rd harmonic distortion. Doesn't that start to rise around 3khz? 9khz is definitely within our range of hearing.

I've never done an A/B comparison, and even if I did I highly doubt I hear any difference at all, but it might be one of those things that once you do hear it or notice it, you can't un-hear it

Ever had a rattle in the room that no one lese notices but it drives you crazy?

Distortion testing on several amps, not 6000, but inuke 3000 included.

Again the distortion only gets higher when pushing the amp and with our higher sensitive speakers. I use 50 watts for the fronts and 10 watts for surrounds and sides so that Inuke will be as clean as any.

What is the percentage of the 3rd harmonics and at what wattage? To be fair as measurements are concerned the Emotiva was measured to have lower distortion but at lower power too. Turn down the Inuke to the same levels and it is low too.

Did you order it from Amazon by any chance?

I just bought 3 NU4-6000's for $900 brand new locally. I am pairing it up with a Marantz 7702 to try out Atmos. Everything is ready to go I just need to mount the ceiling speakers.

I will add pics tomorrow as I am on my phone.

I can also hear the difference in sound quality using Ipuke amps with mains and subs. Hence why they have been banned from my setup.

I think my Patience is starting to run very thin now...it is almost a month since I ordered the unit from Amazon, I have not been able to use my theater 6 weeks now.

I am giving it another few days and then ordering the Inuke6000DSP for my martys and then using the 2x 3000DSP's on my L C R instead.

Very disappointed in the handling of this by Amazon, would not allow me to even use the 20% coupon I used on the NU4-6000 on a new 6000DSP even though both items were included in the promo. RANT OVER!!!!

Wow that sucks man. I have a brand new 6kDSP I'm thinking of sending to ebay valet this week. Didn't know these were so hard to come by in certain areas. I wanted to go with a 4 channel amp instead.

The 6000DSP is everywhere, it is the 4 channel NU4 that is the one that is hard to come by.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I was second guessing selling the 6kDSP since the NU4 was harder to get, and that's what I wanted.

It appears that Sweetwater has them in stock.
Amazon is not the best place for some stuff like this, in my opinion.

Noted, but Amazon's price was $279 after taxes with next day delivery. I never expected such a delay with Amazon in the 7 years I have dealt with them.

I could of got the 6000DSP for $319 after taxes with next day delivery, which is the route I should of went with had I known there was a backorder.

Lesson learned I guess, sweetwater.com is next on my list.

Well I finally ended up getting my NU4-6K, the Polk TSI A9 sound a lot better running off that amp then the XPA5 there were attached to for the last 8 months.

Wife actually came in while playing an MP3 and she asked if I had everything hooked up which meant my 15 and 18 Marty's and I said NO. The extra power is noticeable. The amp did have a bad hum, but tracked it down to ground loop and just hooked up a ground wire to DENON AVR strangely the Emotiva did not have that issue.

My Inukes sound great and very dynamic. My current setup has the lowest noise floor yet. I was pleasantly surprised by this.

How do the iNuke's compare to your old ADA's, either the 1260 or 501?
