I'll be doing exactly the same as soon as the assembled crossovers show up as "in stock."

I thought about waiting for the assembled crossovers also, but that will just cost more for something I can do myself. It has been awhile since I have soldered anything but as long as I follow the diagram and take my time I should be fine.

I decided to go with using Duratex as the finish. I kind of like the textured look and I have also read that applying three coats can give a fairly smooth finish.

The assembled crossovers should be available soon and I think the price will be very reasonable. I have no experience with soldering and I am a bit apprehensive about trying it. Perhaps after I get a close-up look at an assembled crossover, I might buy a soldering iron and experiment with it. If I get the confidence, I just might try it when I (eventually) order the surround kits
prolly the fusion 8s.

You won't regret it. I just assembled two Fusion 8's that I will be using for surrounds (they sound awesome btw) and I used the assembled crossovers. Matt did a very nice/quality job on the crossover and made the job so much easier for a very noob first time DIYer.....I think the assembled option will open the doors for people who were on the fence before.

My first post :-)

I am considering going down this road myself.
Really can't afford JTRS buy I have two left thumbs so the more that's pre cut and assembled the better its looking to me.
Handy I am not!
Congrats on the decision OP

I've got 10 of the assembled crossovers for the Tempest left. We're still trying to figure out pricing. They include the terminals, and shipping back to me. We thought about $20 to start things off. They might have to be a bit higher after everything is figured in.

If $20 sounds okay, I'll get them listed. The price will likely change once we can better figure out the expenses involved. I better add in $1 to cover packaging fees and Paypal fees.

I just listed what I had.....they'll go quick. I can ship them for free if they're sent with the kits.

No idea if that's what the end price will have to be later, but it is what it is for now. biggrin.gif

You placed the same order I did. Are you using them as your left, center, right? I am replacing Axiom my front left and right Axiom m22s and the Axiom VP180 center. Cant wait to hear the difference! Now I just have to find somewhere to unload my used speakers smile.gif

Yep, they will be my front stage LCR, replacing my current Acoustic Energy Aelite 2s and Aelite Center. I intend to get a couple of Fusion 8 kits for surrounds eventually. Not familiar with the Axioms, but the specs seem impressive for their size. I am sure the Tempests will easily exceed the performance my AEs. Gonna have to offload the AEs too.
