Looking at building either fusion 8 alchemy pair or tempest pair for 12x17x8 room. I do not listen at reference levels. Can afford either but wondering if in a small room if I will notice much difference if crossed to a sub at 80 hz. Want most bang for buck but not to wonder if I am missing a lot and end up upgrading in a year.

In a smaller room, the larger speakers have better directivity control. Meaning, they'll keep the sound off the walls better. That's a bigger benefit.
