Walls, bathroom mirrors, dishes in kitchen, and rear patio door shaking violently. Feeling of imminent dread. Stomach feels queasy with each dropping pitch from the emerging tripod. Hairs standing up on the back of my neck. Hair inside nostrils itching. Feel sick, anxious, but WOWED at the same time.

Interesting read. Just finished a couple Si 18's. Wow...they are so nice on both HT and music I'm almost speechless. But for for some odd reason I'm thinking about two more. I can barely stay in the room with these two...why would I want 2 more? Someone explain what is happening to me. eek.gif

You have the sickness. biggrin.gif However SI is sold out of 18's from what I read so you might have to go with Dayton when you decide to once again feed the beast.

Site shows D2 still available, which is what I have now...I can't believe I'm even discussing this...madness.

I'm 54 years old. I have 2 18" subs in my 12x18 HT that can rattle everything in the house....and I want two more. There's got to be a pill for this or something. Strangely enough I could smuggle two of these and two flatpacks into my shop and have them installed and I don't think my wife would know the difference....but my boys would rat me out. cool.gif

With four I could run two 2 ohm loads...interesting. rolleyes.gif

I'm running the two 18's off a QSC GX7. This amp is not 2 ohm stable...but if I got another one?....hmmm. This just expensive.

I spoke to SI today about quad 24's or dual 24's with 18's in back......no mention of 18's out of stock.

Starring at this graph.........33 cubes is possible behind my screen, but not behind my second row! LMS-U's gives up a db or two when compared to 10 cube SI-24...........small form factor is needed behind seats .......not a difficult decision, but still.............one wonders.wink.gif

How about something inbetween?

Instead of 10cuft or 30 why not try 15cuft or 20cuft each for a pair of 24's and then still use the Ultra/UXL in the rear of the room.

My Dual 18" LLT subs 120dB down to 10hz

Its a huge pain now but after it is done it will be a good thing. I am currently saving for a house but my property offered me a good deal on a condo for only a few bucks more than what paying now and a very small deposit. Not what I wanted but I will only have one neighbor and I will get additional time to save. Also, this will now allow me to spend my upcoming bonus check in April on a second SI 24 instead of a downpayment on a home.biggrin.gif

Only caveat is that they want me out of here in a week.

Probably not going ib. Going to try 10,15,20 and 30 cube enclosures. Withe the x mech on these things being 60mm+, the 30 cubes might just be perfect. Will drive past x max at same power but still be safe and allow nice gains way down low. Giving up the little bit of upper end sensitivity for the larger enclosures isn't really much of a concern with that many of them...still should be 145 db capable in the upper end which is never going to be realized anyway.

I like your logic on the move and allocation of bonus funds!!

Well im not sure if I will go to a bigger box this time.I want to but it will look funny with two subs in different boxes up front. And I dont want to bother building another box for the first SI 24.

My main goal is 130db playback from 20hz on up. Im confident with 2 24's albeit in undersize boxes, 2 18's in rear, 11 15's in my speakers, and 9 Unity horns sbould be enough to accomplish my overall goal.

Though truth be told Im thinking I should have went ported, but that would have required som enormous boxes with this driver.
