Heck no. Run each of the dual-opposed cabs (the two drivers in a cab are wired in parallel for a 2ohm load) to one channel each on the 7500 or 6000.
IMO...look to the Peavey ipr2 7500dsp.

However, I do know that dual-opposed 8 cu ft cabs from DIY above, filled with 2 UXL18s each and powered by an IPR2 7500 WILL easily top your current set-up.

I currently have dual XS30's wink.gif

Man am I happy about this, just earlier today I was complaining to my cousin who has a rythmik audio fv15hp about my mediocre sub setup and I then I find this thread. Would have loved to get 4 but would be super overkill in my small home theater room.

Just don't know what to do about my amplifier. Have a quiet fan modded EPX4000, now it could power the two UXL-18's but would be under powered at 870watt RMS/channel, but then I could bridge it and then buy another for the other sub but then have way overkill at 3000 watt rms bridged for each sub. Anyone have some advice?

870 watts will run it well , just not to its maximum . Why not try it first to see how it is. Remember double the power is 3 dbs. I'm going to bridge my new inuke3000 for 2200 watts.

According to the info from PSA a single XS30 will hit 107.6dB @ 20-31.5hz, if you had two co-located you're looking at about 113.6dB.
If we take the numbers on the UXL-18 from Data-bass.com a single UXL-18 in a 4cu.ft enclosure will hit about 117dB @ 20-31.5hz and if you add 6db for a second one you're looking at about 123dB.

So it would take about 4 XS30's to equal two UXL-18's.

Of course the data-bass.com numbers on the UXL-18 were made by using a pretty amazing to power it, so IMHO using an amp like a IPR2 7500 you'd probably be down a couple dB from those numbers.

How big is your room? I'm going to be putting four ported into my theatre room which is just under 1900cu.ft biggrin.gifeek.gif

Thanks jbrown. It's very tempting. And 2 dual opposed is tempting too. Just don't know if I have the money for it now.

jbrown gave it to you straight up with UXL driver numbers and comparisons to boot.

As I said earlier to one of our other members that ended up placing an order, whatever cabinet design you opt for, whether a single-driver 4 cu ft flat-pack or the 8 cu ft dual-opposed, you will need the drivers for it, and the UXL18 fits the bill in either design...and allows you to exceed the amp/driver performance of what you currently have.

Don't miss the opportunity of the fire-sale price of $410 shipped for the one ingredient you need no matter what you light on with design.
If you are strongly considering it, order two of the UXL drivers at the cut-rate price and snag that savings while it is still available....or order four now, save a little $ over the next few months and then snag the two dual-opposed cabs for BASS-HEAVEN!

Don't know, chaluga.
But since I am about to hit the hey and call it a night...

in the event more commitments (not "thinking about it") are posted in the thread (they must be posted, not PMed to me), and we go over 40, the last person to post a commitment that indeed pushes us to 40 should be able to be accommodated (even it that takes us a unit or two over I hope...Mark, any problems with that?) unless it is a large order which puts us significantly over 40, in which case I shall discuss with Mark first.

Any commitments that come in after #40 (or thereabouts) will be a matter of record and considered as ordered back-up in case something happens with one of the original commitments.

Unfortunately it is open to staireell/rest of the house, but I do have a number of options with where I could place my home theater. I just ed moved into this house a month ago and I just put home theater in the open area of the small basement but this is a 4 bedroom house and it's just me living here. So any bedroom could be a home theater room right now and all bedrooms are right around that size except for master which is a good size room.

I really do have to say that I do like my PSA subs, and there's some really great ID subs available at very reasonable prices. But after really hanging out in the DIY section I think that I've begun to see the light really. If someone just wants a quick plug and play solution with great output or wants something with a really nice furniture grade finish there's just some many great options from $500 all the way up to $3500.

But with the flat pack movement from the DIYsoundgroup with sealed options, dual opposed options and now a rumored ported its really hard to ignore the bang for buck value. I mean take a look at the FV15HP, it's probably the top sub under $1500. Now for that same amount of money with this group buy price you can get two drivers, two flat packs and one amp and have a lot more output for the same money.

If you check out the ULF thread there's a reason why the guys with the highest ULF scores are pretty much all DIY guys.
