Did you hear back, from Mark, if the group buy size can be increased? If no more than 40 available - then when one guy who wants 16 jumps in the group buy is effectively over!
Well...right now, we only have 15 commitments...even another 16 only puts us at 31 right now.
...As jbrown said earlier, let's concentrate on 40.
The price break and reasonable production time were discussed at a quantity of 40. One of the advantages of this Group Buy was staying very close to a given production quantity so Mark could deliver the drivers within a reasonable time frame. It certainly s*cks to order something, be told it will be delivered by a certain date, and then find out it will be another 4-6 weeks longer than you thought. He has stated that he could reasonably start to deliver 40 on February 2 if we place our paid orders in early January.
We were certainly not limited to 40, but a greater quantity might
delay Mark's acquisition of production materials and certainly take more of his time.
I am waiting to hear back from Mark. My request for 60+ pricing had two aspects to it:
1. what would the pricing be at 60+ drivers?
2. would he be able to accommodate production of 60+ drivers within our time frame?
Having said that, member auburn has committed to 16 drivers IF the price were to be lowered to $375 per driver. I also know that auburn has kindly stated he would not mind if his drivers were put at the end of the production run if that would help with things not being delayed. But if $375 is not offered, that order of 16 is not there.
Member ChopShop also voiced interest in ordering 16 drivers, but his target price was more nebulous. Between Chop and auburn, there could be 32 drivers, 16 drivers, or zero depending.
It would be nice
freakin' awesome to hit auburn's target price, know that he and Chop were good for 32 total on top of the existing 15 and we only needed 13 more for Mark to have 60 drivers sold. And we all know it would go over 60 at that price point! Let's keep our fingers crossed?
