If that came off harsh, sorry wasn't supposed to. Just answering interspy24's question.

did seem a little harsh since in post 176 you said "It was mentioned earlier that with Dayton's testing parameters that the true xmax is actually closer to 25mm"

I've seen speculation that the true Xmax of the Ultimax is going to be more like 30mm. Not as much as the UXL, and the sensitivity isn't as good as the UXL either. I am really wanting to get in on this but I can't commit right now. I have a very large check to write in January, I will know more in a couple weeks once that is done. Hopefully I will still be able to hop on the bandwagon in late January and order 4.

I'm not trying to falsely accuse you of anything or start something. I'm just curious to find out about the UM18-22. And all I can find on the specs is 22mm xmax.

What? He said exactly what he said wasn't clear enough? Ha ha.... that was horrible writing on my part....sorry about that.

Yes, it appears you interpreted very accurately from what I remember.

There was a lot of good information in the few posts from Rory in that thread. Shouldn't be hard to find if you can remember his exact user name. It was like Rory _ dayton or similar.

Mark is working on getting some savings info over to me. This would require a minimum of 8 drivers shipped on one Pallet. However - the more the better.

If you're in the Pacific NW south, north, or east of Portland, OR. and are getting in on this group buy let me know.

If it turns out everyone is in Portland or North of, we might save some more by shipping to the Seattle area. But if there are people down south of Portland it would be best to keep it in the middle unless the savings was enough to justify it for those guys further south.

I'll be making at least two trips to Bend, possibly as late as April, but that would be the latest and one of those trips will be before then. We ski Bachelor several times a year. So... if someone is further east that might help.

Jbrown and I are just across the border in Canada . We could go to Seattle if the savings are ok. Could be a fun trip. That would be 5 subs if joe is up for a sub trip.

Ok cool, I just didn't want it to come off like I was saying that the UM would go toe to toe with a UXL because that is not the case.

That would be 10 total already. I think it would make most sense if we could split the distance. Seattle for me is 150 + miles...... the savings would have to be pretty good. I could pick up for people like Rebel975 who is in Hoodriver an hour east of me. And anyone down south who is will to drive 50-80 miles up.

I just sold my HSU vtf-15 for enough to buy the uxl18 and the inuke3000dsp. Now I just need to pay for a sheet of birch. I am fully diy now. Only thing that sucks is down to one sub for about two months. I guess I can survive since I lasted 10 years with just one ten inch velodyne sub before.cool.gif

Hey Chaluga, looks like selling your HSU was real easy. Hope I can have similar results when I list my dual PSAs. Did you use Audiogon, Kijiji or Canuck Audiomart?

I went to the avs hsu vtf15 thread and placed an ad their. They gave me a spam infraction but within six hours I had two offers. Good dude from salt lake bought it. Its cheaper to ship from sumas Washington to salt lake then from where I live in Canada to 500 miles away in canada .

I would use ebay for another way. Way more people watching and it will sell for sure. Even with fees you will do good. I have 400 feedback with 100% so it was easy tosell my tekton fronts. Never used audiogon or audio mart.

Thanks Chaluga, I am kinda hoping to get a local buyer as I would like to avoid shipping to the US. I will post in the AVS classified (to avoid any infractions) as well as ebay and see how that goes.

Not to rain on your guys parade but if I'm being honest I'm not to crazy about driving down to Seattle to pick up my UXL-18's, I mean honestly how much are we talking about as far as additional savings go? If it's $10-$15 per driver its just not worth it. I mean we're talking roughly 200miles round trip, so about 3-1/2hrs driver and about $60-$80 in gas which pretty much eats up any savings. Plus with two small kids my time is money, kind of deal.

No worries ..... I was saying the same thing about driving to Seattle and thats just over 150 one way for me. If the price is low enough Id be willing to do some driving but not if buying gas eats my savings. That would not make sense.

Good morning!
All PMs answered as of right now.
No new orders from what I can see.

We stand at 24 out of the 40 drivers we need.

I know there are several folks who were watching this group buy...but were definitely interested in getting drivers.
Sooner rather than later might be the better time to indicate your commitment.
On top of establishing this thread, I have PMed many different people to let them know about the Group Buy opportunity.
You snooze, you lose...

Once we hit 40 drivers (or just over if the last order "in" pushes us past that number), I am turning the Group Buy members names in to Mark so they are able to receive their discount.
After that, it will be up to Mark as to whether he will take any one else in that dedicated Group Buy production run or pass along the Group Buy pricing of $410 shipped each.
