Nice, those are some good sized cabinets. I thought the ones I'm going to build were big for two subs, those are huge.

My Gear:

JTR Noesis 228HT (LCR)
Axiom Audio QS8 surrounds
Sherbourn PA 7-350

Good to see that he's got these things going and they are proving worth while. Too bad he can't document it here

Oh dang. Thought that was a joke when saw mods redirect a thread in which a member posted that Not was banned. He had replied to me just a few hours prior to that so figured he wasn't truly banned. Wonder what he did.

I will never go ported because <10hz is important to me, I'd switch from sealed to IB, but at that point it's really about overkill bass-head displacement because efficiency is already at maximum.
So 32 el-cheapo Fi-18's and 2 clone amps, it would cost the same and be louder. ( Or 64 and go straight to the insane asylum. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 confused.gifbiggrin.gif )

How loud would the 32 & 64 IB model at 10 & 20hz?

Swear I want to fill my attic with IBs one day just cause, well just cause its doable on the cheap. But also want atmos surrounds up there too which isn't on the cheap (could build a decent theater for the same cost).

I do like the gains he's picking up tho. Since he's cutting it sealed its worth it to him.

Read the thread last night and must say I disagree with what happened as he was only stating the obvious although he was also blunt and straight forward while doing so. Nothing wrong with being a realist. To each their own.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure everyone does except for the mod that banned him of course.

^ Yeah, no. Twas a right and deserved riddance. His patently condescending, rude, and at times flat-out insulting schtick usually directed towards those not in the "sweat notnyt cause he has 8 ultras and counterfeit lab gruppen amps" was called out many times- check the threads as most of them are still around- I won't get drawn into a war over it. Again, the posts and threads are there for anyone who cares to discover them. It got to the point where I (and others) began to exit threads he was posting in. Gets tiresome after awhile- not being able to express your opinion or ideas in an internet forum without some electronic goon using some juvenile idea of "clout" to beat you over the head. AVS is now to the point where they simply will not put up with it anymore. And I'm not innocent either, as I've spewed my share of crap over the last 7 years but have- mostly- cleaned it up for the good of everyone concerned.

This thread basically seems like a not-so-clandestine effort to re-establish his other one (sans the builder, lol) so who knows if it will cut the mustard, either.

I am glad you summarized it. I had never had any interactions with him, good or bad. I just didn't know whether is was a specific incident or the cumulative effect.
I hate to see anyone get banned, but if there were warnings, etc...

We're getting complaints about this thread. If no one is discussing any actual products, we'll need to close it.

He is not banned forever, he just won't post here anymore. He called someone out on his thread and the Mod removed his posts rather than the person in question so he called out the mod and then was banned for a period of time.

This is a top fuel dragster caliber sub and frikin badass and sums up why Not is one of the hardest core DIYers that was on here. When he banged out all those sealed enclosures in only a couple days that's when he gained my utmost respect. Some question why so much output? Cause for one he has JBL screen arrays and the other is it's the only way to get zero distortion at incredible levels. Wish I could buy that man a beer. Cheers. Can't wait for graphs!

Not to go too far off topic... but are there any atmos-processors being cooked up yet? Usually the big six (Yam, Den, HK, Onk, Pio, Sony) are the on the bleeding edge of the marketing curve.
Between that and 4k, and glasses-less 3d, you know that's where it's going next... so prepare your wallet (or not).

I remember seeing prices for one of the processors in the $25k range but stopped right there and didnt look any further. Figured room treatments and the rest of my columns/surrounds are way more important.
