I've been searching for someone who has tackled this project but it doesn't seem to have happened. I really enjoy the idea of this sub, it seems to be a bit of a legend. I thought about building something similar with some Dayton Ultimax 12's or 15's.

From what I've gathered from my research, there is two drivers on either side of the outside that fire outwards and two drivers within a sealed box that fire into the larger box. The drivers are apparently in a push/pull arrangement, but I have no clue what the phase alignment is on them. The problem is I've never seen a picture of the inside of the large box, only under the removable driver cover. This leads me to believe the sealed section is basically as big as you see it, but it could extend further into the box.

The major issue is how on earth do you model this? Sealed section within a ported box. I don't think it would work to model a 4 driver vented, nor would it work to model just a 2 driver vented.

Anybody got any ideas?

I would fire one off to Tom V over at PSA. He is very easy to talk to and I'll bet willing to help you out since he helped design it.

Tom has always been very gracious for sure. He is a class act and would gladly help if his time permits.

BTW, what is "PSA"?

That is awesome! I am excited for Tom and his crew. I sure they are making a good go of it. The internet direct market has grown significantly, along with the competition.

I never saw mention of them prior to today. Very cool! I like their more innovative designs already. cool.gif

I still remember reading this review and thinking it was bad ass! In most regards it still is for the normal person, ala most of those that don't frequent this forum.biggrin.gif

Of course, that was also long before John Johnson worked for SVS as well.

It is amazing to see how far I/we have come in the past decade (not to mention how many subs I have owned and built since then AND money spent).

I forgot about this thread too!

I had a few SVS subs over the years before going DIY, fun times and great people to deal with.

I forget what it was all about but like four months ago a member was posting something about the B-4 and wanted some sort of help. Tom stepped in and answered his questions and even offered him a couple of drivers since he had (he thought) 1 1/2 of them (B-4’s) laying around somewhere not in use. I think he was even going to just give him the drivers if I recall correctly?? I’m not saying that’s still the case, but it’s been my experience that Tom and Ed (with SVS) are really forthcoming in trying to be a help when they can or feasible.
