Sounds awesome. I will have to look at some transducers again. I was wondering also if you will be uploading a video of the dragon scene?

Either way it looked like the woofers weren't even pushed that hard in all the scenes. As in pushed to Xmax. With such huge amounts of travel a mechanical clearances it would take a lot to hurt them. I had a hard time ever getting my 21's to hit Xmax because not enough power and me worrying about breaking something. SO I look forward to getting some uber displacement woofers again that I dont have to worry about breaking. Just hope I can afford the amp I will need to power them.

Again awesome buildup.smile.gif

If you're stoked now, seriously, check out some crowsons. They mix in well. Completely finishes the experience.

With the outrageous amount of "bass" you guys are able to generate with your uber drivers, would transducers really add anything meaningful to the mix?

It's insane how much they add. Huge amount. If you know the feeling of good bass in a car, kind of like that.

I'm on a concrete slab, so there's no tactile feel through the floor. My subs also are tuned to 15hz, so it really fills in everything below that. Also the lower frequencies that aren't able to be picked out of a mix (single digit) are awesome now. +1000 crowson.

The transducers add a very neat aspect to the "feel" of the system.

I hope these things are not too difficult to integrate into the system. I just took a look at some transducers and I have to do some more reading. Those Crowsons seem like the real deal--but a bit pricey.

Was way easy for me. My receiver has 3 sub outs, #3 is for transducer. Ran that to an NU1000DSP and handled all the EQ in there. Xover in receiver @ 60hz.

I feel very fortunate to have a suspended floor!

Set your feet on the floor and feel the energy go right up though your body!  I can understand those with concrete floors going this route.  I have about 3000 lbs of sand in my front stage and still get that incredible feeling!  With one JTR S2 it was great.................with four UXL's I'll be in a whole different universe!!  ;)

Interesting! I see you can use a inuke instead of the dedicated Crowson amp. That is sure to make the price a bit more manageable.

I played with muting and unmuting them during scenes for my buddies. They said the transducers on make it feel louder. For what I paid for my transducers and amp I am happy, although, I'm sure the Crowsons rock.

So, the summary for the day is pure happiness. I played hours and hours of material today. Music and Movies. I currently am having an issue where I still hear like I am underwater. I also felt a little sick after a few hours of receiving punishment from these subs. It was en exciting day. I equalized as best I could(without my omnimic as it was still at the office) using a nice spl meter and test tones. I was able to get it flat from 11hz to roughly 85 hz. With level constant on the receiver, I was able to get 11Hz-85Hz within about 3 db.I need to verify this as I have never had extension like this in my room. It is just sounding really great. Listening to Alice in Chains unplugged right now ans it sounds fat and punchy all over my living room and kitchen. I am so happy with this build. This is the stuff that makes it soo much fun!

It is likely you were clipping the input stage of the inuke if you were at +12dB on the bass trim.

Sounds like a LOT of fun!

Some 10hz-14hz test tones to show excursion. I was too chicken to go any further. Lots of air out of the ports. Video does not do the excursion justice. These puppies were moving!

When eq ing I only needed to add 3.5db at 55hz q1.1 so far. I measured almost identical db from 11hz up (within 3db c weighted) but I then engaged a 14hz high pass for protection.

You are so talkative tonight.

If the zv4 is a five layer

and

the x is a 4 layer

what is the ................. HST?

Again I ask as others do- if you want nothing to do with the HST at least make some money off the zv4 drop in recone.

Maybe you could do this crazy thing we hear about and set up a shopping cart for an HT ZV4 option. 10" or 10 and 1/8" spider?

The simple fact is the HST is a zv4 with nothing more than a simple spider change. A spider change which I can get from SPI.

You appear to have more information on the spider than I do. Maybe you/SPI could offer it to this forum?
