Notnyt have put any dampening material in any of the subs you've built? I'm asking because I'm trying to decide if I should or not in my subs that I've built.

Thanks in advance!

This thread is what I needed! Sure, the build is incredible...but I'm putting this build up to show the wife first, THEN, hit her with the full marty.
Seriously though, great work, most impressive.

Going to mount the subs in #4 and test after I finish up some work. Basically, all done, I just need to get the subs mounted and lift the enclosure.

Yes, I need to dust... and vacuum. This build made quite a mess.

All 4 are done, I'm just waiting for assistance lifting it. Tested it earlier, no abnormal noises so that's good.

Impressions?

Maybe a full tilt video with an EDM track with a focus on 40-80Hz and a SPL meter at LP? I'd like to see that.

A video would still be fun to see smile.gif

What meter do you have?

I would also be curious to see the air movement from the port in a video if it is not too much hassle.

Could you post a full range response and phase graph with no smoothing?

I posted phase response here:

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1516234/8x-18-lms-5400-ultras-sealed-to-27-cube-15hz-ported-build/100_100#post_24387780

As for video, I've posted one before once I built them, let me see if I can find another. It's really not impressive as the cones don't move much.

You can grab a video here: https://drive.google.com/uc?export=download&confirm=vNli&id=0B4dxOh63yRQ4REFwaWhJMTFkVEk

Youtube is 30fps, and that's encoded at 60, so I don't want to kill the framerate and introduce the awful stutters youtube does. I'll eventually re-encode it. Some slow-mo in there too, enjoy wink.gif
