WAF soon to be at all time high. Current status: all time low.

1st coat of b-I-n shellac based primer/sealer on and is waiting to be sanded -ugh (have to sand it in the garage... It's -10f out right now)

http://t.homedepot.com/p/Zinsser-1-Qt-White-B-I-N-Shellac-Interior-and-Spot-Exterior-Primer-and-Sealer-00904/100398380

I'll do a second coat of primer tonight and sand it and then give it a coat or two of Rustoleum flat black latex paint and call er good.

http://t.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Painter-s-Touch-32-oz-Flat-Acrylic-Latex-Black-General-Purpose-Paint-1976502/100172539/

Hopefully this won't look too terrible being applied with a 4" roller on the top/bottom/back/sides and a brush on the front baffle...

google Duro-med convoluted eggcrate, 33" x 72" 2" about $22 that's a bit over 16 sq. ft. so about $1.40 ish per sq. ft. I haven't priced joannes. AS I've learned, none is necessary for the marty cube but
curious about what the minimum or optimal minimum for a martysub might be
anybody?

I don't know what company Seaton uses for cables. I have 2 of them since I used to own Submersives. A friend of mine bought a cable straight from Mark so you could go that route.

I also bought some from Funky Munky and 2 of them caused hum and 2 did not.

Sorry I'm not more help! smile.gif

My emotiva preamp only.has one xlr and one rca. I used my.monoprice xlr to rca cable today and no hum.

None is a.must but the vertical port wall is a minimum to me. I think the rest is just for peace of mind to a degree .

If by minimum you mean the amount of eggcrate, I purchased a piece that was 82x32 and I used almost all of it on 1 cube. Had about 15x32 left.

Hunh? Vertical wall is a must, but none is a must??? Confused here.....

Also, Donny, can you tell a difference between the sub with more egg crate than the other? You did one with full egg crate and one only on the vertical port wall right?

My uneducated guess would be that the more egg crate the smoother the response, but again this is very uneducated and a guess..

without any the sub will sound good. The more you add the smoother ,tighter the sound is but it lowers output (spl). To me you have the air forcing itself to the back of the sub. I would think(don't have proof) that the majority of the air hits the back vertical port. Much more then the side walls. The second cube i built does only have dampening on the vertical port, 1st everywhere. Still waiting for my uxl18 driver to fire it up. I will report out if i hear any difference. One could always add or remove lining and see themselves.

I put it everywhere, making sure to leave enough space up on top for the air to travel to the port with no restriction. The sound is very tight and no "hollow" sound. It sounds great!

Yes because I only passed one pair of wires behind of my baseboards, going to front stage,,,to 1st SUB then daisy chained (parallel) to the 2nd SUB .

Well I use my home theater pc, but one could use airplay with an apple device, most newer receivers have airplay capability and many bluray players have a youtube app I bet.
