Ya know, you plan on documenting the build and then you get so caught up in getting the things done, you barely take any pictures lol. Regardless, my build is complete be successful to say the least. Testing them out in my living room to make sure everything is square and holy hell. I'm completely satisfied. And considering the money I saved, I don't think id miss any performance from some of the big boys. This is my first build and I'm already got ideas spinning for my LCR setup!

LTD02 and Bombelman like this.

Great looking project. smile.gif What's the volume of the cabinet you ended up with for duals, did you model it ahead of time?

3 cubic foot. One on the left and one on the right. They were modeled off of the parts express knock down cabinets. I got some measurements from the site and took them to a buddy of mine who does some custom cabinetry. He played around with them a little and once we agreed on the design, we had his CNC machine cut the MDF.

Thanks! I got the LED strip light kit from parts express a little while back and stuck it all the way around the inside of my 42u rack. I can change it to pretty much any color I'd like! Definitely makes it easier to see things when it's pushed back in it's closet.

What LCR setup do you think would mesh the best with these? I was looking at the DIYsound Tempest's but would I really need a 12in woofer?

I'll be getting my inuke 6000dsp today, and 2x 15" UM + flat packs arriving Monday. I'm just curious how you have the drivers configured to the amp. Do you have both drivers connected to one channel of the amp, or are you running both on their own channel and using a limiter?

Love it! I like the look of the sealed cubes. Great job man. Do you have 2? As far as the LED's those are cool. Radio Shack has some that are about 36" long but they are skinny as a strand of sphagetti. I thought about running it along the inside of my media cabinet as well. I am liking it! Great job.

Right now I'm running them in wide open stereo.

Yes, I have two running in stereo.

This is the kit I used for the rack

http://www.parts-express.com/lavolta-kit-1-rgb-300-led-16-ft-tape-lighting-strip-12-vdc-waterproof-ip65-44-key-remote-6a--073-086

For the price, I'm more then happy. Had to get some better double sided tape though. The stuff that comes on it isn't very good at all so I used some stuff from home depot that is used for back splash tiles. Stuff is pretty strong.

You should apply a 400hz HPF at least, to keep the voices from bleeding out the subs.
It doesn't bother you none?

Is that not giving them too much power?

They are crossed at 100hz right now. I meant wide open as I have no wattage cap set.

In my modest room right now, I'm barely using even half of the potential wattage. And that's peak.
