Doublewing received the last two a few weeks ago, just check out his home theater build thread. He's had great results powering all four from a single IPR2 7500 amp, I think he's flat all the way down to 8hz too.

Time flies when you're having fun........

As JB mentioned.........close to flat down to 8 Hz at 115 db's. Very impressed so far with performance on a single Peavey ipr2 7500. I tried to push amp as hard as I could.......hit 124 db's at MLP but just could take it any more! Not once have I clipped amp! eek.gif

ok so I don't know anything about that amplifier, but how did you run 4 subs with one amp? Just split the outputs? Sorry, again I'm trying to learn. Also, are these just 4 kits from PartsExpress? you said "knock down kits" so that' swhat I figured they are. I didn't think there were 18" kits...unless these are from somewhere else? Great work btw...i'm definitely jealous

Yup. It is 2ohm stable and these drivers are all rated 4ohm (actually run slightly higher than usual) so it's a reasonable load on this amplifier to power four of such.

Scott, I always seem to get this mixed up...lol

So because they're 4ohm drivers and the amp is 2ohm stable you would just run two drivers per channel parallel right? or was it in series?...lol

I'm guessing parallel. smile.gif

Yup. You got it!

Parallel two 4ohm drivers for a 2ohm net.

Series two 4ohm drivers for an 8ohm net.

Hey Scotty!

Yeah, I was hoping to have all set up for my Daughter's visit from Germany but subs arrived too late.

I had a small issue with my MiniDSP Open DRC-an and had to replace unit..........MiniDSP handled situation very well.

I have 30 inches of 12 AWG wire coming out of Peavey amp and then attached 4 conductor in-wall 12 AWG wire to each side essentially wiring front and back on separate channels in parallel..........reason being with 50 ft runs, resistance would be less by wiring near amp and because it I ordered another Peavey, it would be simple to re-wiring to run each UXL off each channel.

I don't think I'll need another amp since I'm almost flat to 8Hz at reference! Yes, you heard that right.....off just one Peavey, I'm hitting 115 db's at 8Hz at O on my Marantz 8801! eek.gif I've had output at scary volumes for me and have never clipped amp once!!!!!!

Didn't think I could do that on one Peavey, but I can! Now I don't listen at those levels........but I can if I want!

Here is a graph with MiniDSP Open in chain along with XT32 engaged with dynamic eq and volume off!

BTW, I'm not hiding from you...........you are a quality guy and have been most helpful.........and of course, "Fabulous!" tongue.gif

Well, I've been busy preparing for my coffered ceilings in Knotty Alder! They should look like this when I'm done! I have all Summer to complete.......wink.gif

What do you think?

Four DIYSoundgroup flat packs which have cut-out for SI-18 driver. I like the looks of the rim gasket so the OD of this flat pack is better for me.........

I was actually thinking of ordering four more until I actually got them hooked up..........well, four is enough!!!!! eek.gif

See prior post on hooking up four UXL's on a single Peavey ipr2 7500.

That is what I'm thinking..........I have anther 20 amp circuit which was planned for running a Peavey with two UXL's. Since one 7500 handles 4 UXL's easily, adding another four would allow system to run effortlessly. I'm really thinking Octo-inator may be born out of the ashes!

FULL DIY ! I like it. That is the only way I will roll too. I like the CNC cut baffles though.. I admit those are nicer than I do with a router.
