I'm sure if someone asked Donny to build them a sealed flat pack he would but I can't see that happening with Erich is sealing them already for less then what Donny would be willing to do them for. Which is $120.

Plus I would doubt it would be worth his time and effort to even try to come close to that price.

LOL. Have you even read this page of the thread? Classic example of someone (you) walking into a conversation without even knowing what's being discussed but you're chiming in like you've been in it the whole time.

I've never heard of a "sealed marty" either, until several posts above where someone referred to it and I replied with I didn't think there was such a thing as a "sealed marty" - I'm fairly familiar with the marty offerings by Chaluga and had never seen anything but ported.

I'm not acting as if there's anything special about any design; I don't care about the design or anything about the product at all to be honest.

Too answer your question, no there isn't a sealed Marty. It would simply just be known as a sealed box. wink.gif
But of course you're free to call it what ever you like. I think most would refer to it as a sealed flat pack.

Brutal, please tell us how jbrown15 was "incorrect"? Someone referenced something that doesn't exist (a sealed marty) , and jbrown tried to clarify that as well as your misunderstanding regarding who designed the martysub.

I'd say jbrown has been chiming in with the facts... wink.gif

I'd say jbrown has been chiming in with the facts... wink.gif

He was incorrect in suggesting that I brought up a "sealed marty" in the first place. Someone else did, and I replied saying that I had only ever heard of any marty being ported and somehow I became the guy in his mind due to not reading the conversation above my post that made the statement in the first place. That's what was incorrect. All I was saying was I wasn't the poster that suggested that there was a "sealed marty." And I'm well aware that a sealed design would be referred to as a "sealed enclosure" not a "sealed marty" but he was just being a smart ass which is fine. As for the "misunderstanding" as to who designed the martysub, that's completely irrelevant to any of the conversation prior. Whether LTD designed it, you designed it or I designed it has no bearing whatsoever on another member above referring to a non-existent "sealed marty" which was what my original statement was in response to. The "fact" that he chimed in with as far as who designed it is however GREATLY appreciated; I did get a lot out of that.

LOL.

Hey Rebel, I just read through your thread on your UXL-18 in the DIY sealed enclosure that you have linked in your sig. Just a few questions. Did you ever upgrade your amp? I read in your thread that you were clipping it and the sub seemed like it could take a lot more. Wondering how much power you are running to it now and what your overall impressions are of this sub in that sealed enclosure.

Also what size room are you using it in? Thanks.

I have a MartyU-3000DSP feeding an Epic 12" Mini/Micro Martyseal and a CV5000 feeding a pair of UXL-18's Martyseals. I was clipping the amp back then because I was legitimately maxing it out.

However, I still have clipping issues with my CV5000. Something clips if I turn the volume up too much, but it's not the amp. The -20dB light was on on the CV5000 when it made the clipping sound. I am leaning towards it being the MartyDSP tbh.

I am going to replace the MiniDSP at some point either way. In the end I found that I just don't like it. If I make any change in the interface the subs make a violent/loud popping noise. It bothers me.

Edit: Oh, and my room is 14'x20'x8'. It's a terrible room for Martybass. I don't seem to have any room gain whatsoever. I also have a 15ish dB drop at ~40Hz. I will be moving in a few months though, so I just have to accept it.

That's funny, as my (almost) wife basically said "He is gonna get pissed when he sees this and finds out everyone is making fun of him!" To which I said, "He will actually be flattered more than likely." It was his pushing for a ported 18" build-out that started the Marty craze, I just exacerbated (but not really a problem right?) it a shade over the last few days......

Chaluga, enjoy the MartyParty! Hope all goes well biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif
