Center channel, just needs TD12M's. Damping material has been applied, box has been stuffed and wired.

Was going to start rebuilding my baffle wall this weekend, but that is now delayed for a week. Have a customer stopping for a demo of the Sony VW1100ES next Wednesday. Not looking forward to the work, but sure am looking forward to the end result.

That is a serious projector! How do you like compared to some of the "lower" end models like the 600es or the 4910?

The 1100ES has black levels like a JVC, very good motion and lots of brightness. Oh, it is 4K also. Throws a great image. I had it, my VW600ES and the DPI Cine 1000 LED in my room for the last month. Cine 1000 LED sold and shipped out about a week ago.

Wow...another amazing build with the TD12M.

May I ask the total cost for each speaker?

Mike,

Wish I saw this earlier. I have two TD12M's that I haven't opened yet. I do plan to use them, but not for a long time. I could have sent them to you.

Was there a reason you went with MTM with the two 12's and not a 12 and 6 or something in that nature? Having no design experience, I just thought the TD6M would crossover much higher and then you could have the 12 on the bottom.

Builds: Maelstrom 21 Ottoman Build, Dual Opposed MFW's x 2, Statements, SEOS-12/TD12M x 5.

Actually will be MTMW. Using a single TD12M, means the sensitivity would be around 95db, since the TD12M would be the limiting factor. With a second TD12M, I can get the sensitivity up to around 98db. That will mean very little padding to the TPL-150H and TD18H+. I also already owned three TD12M's and two TD18H+ drivers.

My center was just going to be MTM, because I could not think of a way to fit my 18" Mal-X between my main and center if I placed A TD18H+ below my center because the max space available is 26.5" wide x 14" deep and 23.75" high. To even get that much space, I have to build three new boxes to replace the existing and a fourth box for the TD18H+ for the center channel. The only way I even get 26.5" of width, is if I offset the drivers to one end of the box (keeping each TD18H+ in line with the MTM top), but that still does not leave enough volume for the Mal-X driver. Then it hit me. I could not only offset the driver for the center speaker, I could also make it trapezoidal shaped, with the back being 4" narrower than the front. Then if I do the same for the TD18H for the left main, I could have a box for the Mal-x that is 26.5" wide at the front and 34.5" wide at the back. Combine that with the 14" of depth and 23.75" of height, I can get 4.25 CF of interior volume, after driver and bracing. That is enough to make it work. So now I guess I have a TD18H+ to order and four new boxes to build. This would look a little funky, if left exposed, but I already planned to hide these subs behind a grill that runs the width of the screen wall, (already purchased the grill cloth) so this will work.

Actually you'll get +6 dB sensitivity, 3 dB efficiency increase from 2X cone area and 3 dB voltage sensitivity increase for half the impedance.

I like the trapezoidal box solution, clever.

Pretty silly, I was not even thinking about the increased cone area. Have requested a TD18H+ added to my driver order. After this, I don't see changing speakers for a long, long time, if ever.

Was told yesterday that my three TD12M's and one TD18H+ was on the build table. Thought I would have had the TD12M's by now, but I guess the good news is, I might get the TD18H+ with them.
