Yup. If I had seen this project in college last year I would have done it or attempted to anyway. Not sure if we could ever use them to their full potential without a sound violation though lol.

Pushovers - that reminds me. I was worried that they me be so top heavy with most of the weight in the top half of the speaker. Fortunately they are so damn heavy and deep that it isn't an issue.... well at least not yet!

To your point -at the gtg they were in the same room as David's Salk's, not a fair fight in the looks department!

However, I LOVE how they look - but there is a decent chance that there is something very, very, wrong with me. In fact I heard all about them when Jeff was designing them and I had no interest - until I saw a picture of the finished product!

I immediately knew I would be buying them.

Yes. I agree that offering a flat pack would probably be cost prohibitive and a lot of unnecessary work on your end, Erich.

A parts list, and crossover blueprint would be wonderful! I would order the B&C mids & subs right now if I had the crossover design blueprint in my hands! With that being said, I have never built a real crossover, and have no idea if I could follow the blueprint. Would be nice if I could talk one of you guys into building the crossovers for me.

A front baffle would be nice as well, depending on your cost to make them.

You think a front baffle is shippable, if shippable is a word.....

I don't think shipping two front baffles would be very expensive, so it is doable. They wouldn't weigh very much, which means the delivery guys would likely be able to toss them around pretty easy. Because of the big holes cut out in the baffles, I might be tempted to strengthen the package by putting in a piece of 1/4" MDF between the baffles or something like that.

Say whats the sensitivity of this thing? Must be about 100db! To me that's one of the most impressive things about it.

Why not something g like an iNuke1000dsp? It's cheaper, and has built in EQ & Dsp capabilities. I have them for my LCR's, just haven't gotten the chance to actually hook them up yet as I had to sell my UMM-6 mic before I even got to take it out of the box due to financial issues. Hoping to be in a position to order another one from CSL sometime in the next two weeks.

An iNuke will probably be a little noisy and cause the compression driver to buzz a little.

Just read all 31 pages over last few days...absolutely brilliant!!!
Love these speakers!!!
EricH...you must offer this as a kit of some sort...baffles only with crossover parts at a minimum!
Expensive...yes!!!
Massive...yes!!!
Out of this world mid-bass like I want it...most definitely!!!
Need some more specs though like sensitivity, power handling and frequency range
Would be nice to put all the spec info on one page for easy access.

Would love to see a slot port version tuned to around 35hz for ridiculous mid bass!!! Even though this is designed for full range, would love less low end bass and more massive mid bass punch...
Now...will we see a Maximus-18 center too??

seems we are close to 98db...... that means it kept with the goal of receiver powering.. or vintage old gear or cinema pentode power...

Excellent and I assume this is an 8 ohm speaker that is full range down to 30hz at least and hopefully close to 20hz in room. I think one the pages mentioned 25hz with ability to go to 20hz with eq. Lots of options with this big boy!!

How much would this speaker weigh approx??
I guess at least 150lbs but hopefully lighter...
Would the 1099 center be a good timbre match for a pair of these Maximus-18's or maybe an upgraded 88 special with an fl-450 cd would be a better match??

What is your inuke volume knob on? Try turning it to max and see if there's a faint noise. Mines silent at like 3/4, but if I turn to max I can hear some noise with my ear up to the speaker.

Eric, did you decide yet which b&c 18" woofer would be used??

I think it's the 18tbw100...

How about the 18sw115??

Looks like a killer with near 60mm peak to peak before damage.

Very expensive but definitely Maximus sounding!!

IN most of these setups the SW115 is not needed. It can displace more but thats about it. And it costs quite a bit more over other options. And if this is going to be used with a passive crossover then the TB100 looks a lot better than the SW115. Unless this setup is being used in a warehouse that has no subs with it and fully active I dont see the need for the extra mm's of excursion.

You are right, I don't have my volume up all the way on the inuke as it would max out the trim on my pre/pro. I have it about 2/3 of the way up on each one.
